Republicans need to step up their game and get the vote out. Poor showing.

More dem turnout. Shit. And he hasn’t even picked his VP/future president yet b

Don't forget, this is just the primaries, Republican turnout should be low.

This is actually really really great numbers for an incumbent president

Except Biden has already won the primary, there's no reason for Dems to vote either.

1.95 million turned out to vote in the 2016 presidential election

This is The Primaries, right?

This is a good thing

Why?

Because Trump is the incumbent, which means the people didn’t really have to vote

If anyone has “friends”, remind them to keep voting Bernie (whose campaign is suspended, iirc,) so that those votes go to Bernie and not Biden.

We’ll see in November for the General Elections.

Spez: Need to read better.

Edit 1: Yes, the person who replied below is correct. The Primaries DO matter, there’s more voting than just that on it.

Because Trump is the incumbent, which means the people didn’t really have to vote

And that right right there is how this red state ends up blue all the time. In state and locals. There's Judges, Councilmen, taxes, presidential primaries weren't the only thing on there. People really need to learn what a sample ballot is. Know what's on the ballot ahead of time.

EVERY little vote on EVERY little thing COUNTS.

Yes, you are correct. There are more than just that on a primary ballot and more votes than just once a year every 4 years.

What, perhaps, I should have mentioned in my comment thread to make clearer is that the enthusiasm is present when people did not have to for him.

Absolutely vote (and there are more than just 1 every 4 years, there are many votes). The voter turnout is rather low as well, and some legal citizens do not even exercise their right to vote.

Could say the same thing about Biden being the nominee. Is BLM support high in LA?

Harambe 1 point ago +1 / -0

Biden isnt the nominee yet, so no your couldn't say the same thing about Biden

This. Louisiana is a very red state with a lame duck governor. The democrat party is in utter disarray and couldn't even field candidates for long-held districts in 2018.

This.

Scary, defiently. But also shows these far leftists/extremists do not want biden. They just wasted their votes, and will probably do a write in come November

5
Siteless_Vagrant [S] 5 points ago +8 / -3

Can't do write ins here, I think. And that IS the scary part, so many people tossed their vote out the window, and still beat Trump.

Smegmaless2 13 points ago +14 / -1

Hopefully there was just a lot of complacent conservatives that knew President Trump would be on the ballot come November and just didn't bother going to vote.....

According to the new Gallup polls, his approval rating jumped from 85% to 91%

The latest results are based on a June 8-30 Gallup poll. While Trump's overall job approval rating is essentially unchanged from the prior May 28-June 4 poll, it does show some improvement among Republicans, from 85% to 91%. However, the current poll also indicates the president's approval rating has dropped among independents, from 39% to 33%, as well as among Democrats, from 5% to 2%.

You can read the mental gymnastics here

Republican turnout was 1/3 less than 2016, likely because Trump is already the nom. He also got 75k more votes this time than 2016, which means plenty of enthusiasm.

(Dem turnout down only 10%,which makes me think the disparity has a lot to do with people not liking Biden and wanting to voice it with their vote)

It was also hot as bawls and one of the last days we could drink in bars before govenor Dumbell Edwards blamed them for the WuFlu outbreak and shut them down.

schnazzmizzle 8 points ago +8 / -0

Those 200k that went and voted for Trump knew he didn't need the votes anyway.. Where as the pedocrats are doing some weird form of presidential/run primary?? I think the motivations aren't the same for the voters in the case you present.

8
Banick088 8 points ago +8 / -0

Less than the total Dem primary voters overall in 2016

farfiman 6 points ago +6 / -0

The Berniebrats have still not given up. If for some reason Biden cannot run they will expect Bernie to replace him and Oh what a shitshow they will create when he isn't choosen

2
Siteless_Vagrant [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's just funny. I don't know what people are thinking, voting for those people. Bill O'rielly was right, people should have to pass a test and get a license to vote.

Anyone have the numbers from 2012 to do a comparison ?

You mean '16? 221k Hillary, 124k Trump. 2012 was 115k Obama, 91k Rick Santorum.

The sky is falling oh no.

This was a nearly all red state in 2016 final election results for the General Elections, and mail-in ballots are going “well”.

3
SubaruKayak 3 points ago +3 / -0

Nearly an 'all Red State' where Gov Edwards (the incumbent) won with less than 40 thousand votes against Rispone in 2018. It'll be tight-

I have no doubt there'll be a bumper crop of harvested ballots this year.

Can we get numbers on last elections Democrat votes? Just assuming there will be rampant voter fraud for their non-candidate this year

2
marvelwall 2 points ago +3 / -1

these are people who went out and vote knowing Trump was going to be on the ballot in November and he still is fairly close to Biden. think of how many people didn’t go out and vote for Trump because they already knew he’s on the ballot.. I’m not worried at all, I voted this primary because I’m far more into politics than I ever have been, but before this one, I’ve never voted in primaries - so, imagine how many people had that same mindset this primary? numbers are gonna be bigly for Trump this November!!
