This should've been the rule to begin with. These laid off kids are making $3k/month to riot and destroy shit.

That was obviously part of the plan.

These kids never had jobs lmao.

I remember a poll done on a socialist subplebbit a while back, something like 90% lived at home and never had a job.

Hard to argue that you haven't been given your fair share of the pie when you haven't even cut into it...

Yep, I know several people that were making more on unemployment than their actual salary. I also know a guy that works for a local credit union that said he made less working than people on unemployment did not working and having to cash their checks and not cuss them out was the most soul-draining experience ever.

Spoiler: he's not voting Biden.

My sister's company can not reopen under state guidelines so she has been getting the $600/wk since the beginning plus local unemployment. She is making more money now than before and laughing all the way to the bank.

I'm totally behind this. Unemployment has (historically) been based on your salary, and generally you get 2/3 of what your salary was when laid off. I've had to use it myself a few times in my life.

The extra $600 is de-motivational. A buddy of mine (leftist) is making almost twice what he was making as a waiter when Kung Flu hit. Now he doesn't want to go back to work. "I plan to milk this as long as I can." and when I say the bonus was a mistake, he says "No. it's my employers fault that I make more on unemployment because they were not paying me enough!"

His alcohol budget has never been healthier.. so there's that...

Edit: I shoudl add that some of his coworkers have gone back to work...he ignores the calls.

Nah not 2/3 of what your salary was. I got laid off in April and my state unemployment was 1/4 of what my salary was, and in these uncertain times I didn't know exactly how long I would be out of work for, so stashing the extra $600 gave me a bit of a cushion and set my mind at ease.

This definitely got me through some hellhole times as a recent graduate but I want my job back because every day furloughed means another day farther out until a promotion (I work in the hotel industry).

I am tired of this quarantine, social distancing, and mandates to wear masks. I will wear a mask voluntarily if I am around a lot of people because I am concerned about this bioweapon from China, but the government should not force people to wear these face diapers.

Not everyone is as cautious as me.

I was getting 10x my salary but I make a pitiful amount of money

Not good enough. Unemployment was never meant to be a 100% replacement for lost wages. That would still be an incentive to staying on unemployment rather than returning to work.
