Archie was smarter than Carroll O'Conner.

Norman Lear thought he was making Archie to be an idiot. Turns out Archie was right about most things. It is almost a statement on today. With a kid and her husband sponging off the dad while making fun of the only one bringing any money into the house.

Archie was an Alinsky concept. Ridicule. Mock the shit out of Nixon voters.

Backfired a bit, and CBS made a shitload on America's Favorite Bigot.

First well-documented instance of the principle, "The Left Can't Meme."

He was right about the “signals change” thing too. Remember when the media said Corona was only as bad as the Flu?

Although Archie was a bigot, he was a product of his times and lower-class upbringing. His focus was on bearing down, working, and providing for his family.

Archie would say a lot of bigoted things, and hold prejudiced attitudes, but consistently when it came down to it, even if it was painful for him he always did the right thing.

Saved the transvestite and befriended him/her.. Took in Stephanie and cared for her. When he found out the "Kings of Queens" was KKK, told them off and left.

Meanwhile, the Meathead, for all his moralizing and platitudes, ends up leaving his wife and child because....complete selfishness.

Which character was more moral?
