We've been in the process of relocating bit by bit for a couple of years. Now I don't even want to go back to get the rest of our stuff. Though eventually we will. It was dumb (good) luck, really. We brought my MIL down here so she could have a break from taking care of my FIL with Alzheimers. Ended up staying a few extra weeks and were down here when everything got locked down. And we're so grateful to be here every single day. It really grinds my gears that people aren't staying in place and are spreading this pathogen around. Also, younger people brought it into a community where nearly everyone is elderly and vulnerable, where everyone has been super mindful about hygiene, etc. Had I been in NYC when this started I would not have come to this community. If I ended up infecting and killing our lovely neighbors I couldn't live with myself.
Don't blame me I've been down here since Christmas. Finally got a case where we stay due to recently fleeing NYers. Not thrilled.
Sorry about that. When real-estate prices collapse in NYC they will all move back because they won't be able to pass up the great "deal".
