I'm a legal immigrant to this great country. Growing up in a literal shit-hole country, I always dreamed of coming to the USA. I envied the freedom and endless opportunity this land provides to its children. I struggled and worked hard to get here.
But when I got here, I found I could not express my love for this country without being labeled "right wing". That makes no sense to me.
This seems like the only place on the Internet where I can express my love for this country unabashedly so I'm screaming it here!!!
For sure. I in fact grew up in two shit hole countries (one albeit briefly). I completely agree with you because I never had freedom or opportunity growing up.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to be here and live my dream.
If any of these ingrates lived my life for a year - no running water, no constant electricity, rampant corruption, terrible pollution, a government that doesn't allow freedom of speech - they'd change their minds real quick.
