Not saying the average american owns a boat but the people in this picture are closer to what average americans are than what Reddit seems to portray them as.
No clue why every single person on Reddit seems to be some person working 20 hours a week for $8 an hour and can barely afford rent. One time I made the grave mistake of saying I am in an okay spot financially and was downvoted and basically told to kill myself because not everyone is as lucky as me. Such a hateful group of people.
And the entitlement is insane as well. Unemployment is currently $4k a month on top of the free $1,200 everyone got yet they are still bitching we need to freeze rent. The fuck? You are getting $4k a month for sitting at home and still cant afford to live?
Max is about ~$400 per week depending on the state and the federal government is now giving an extra $600 per week. If you made anything under I think like $65k a year, then you are making more money on unemployment after taking income tax into consideration.
You can game the system even before that $600/week to net around $60k/yr. I’ve seen people do it and laugh about doing it to people who all worked. Needless to say, those people were the only ones laughing in the crowd.
Very true, instead of learning skills to better themselves in their life they bitch that the system was broken because they weren't born with a golden spoon already in their mouths. Even back when I was unskilled after high school, I started to work for a roofer for pretty much minimum wage doing grunt work and as time went on he taught me more and more to the point I was making more than the average salary at the time because in less than 6 months time I was able to nearly quadruple my pay since I could do roofing. Literally anyone can do this, if you work for more than a year at minimum wage I think there is something wrong with you. The American dream is real, and it is still obtainable by anyone.
The most patriotic person I know is a guy who came to this country from sub-Saharan Africa. In fact, the people in this country I know who love America the most are those who came here and took advantage of the opportunities we offer. Uncle of mine landed in this country with his papers and $50 in his pocket, his entire net worth as he was fleeing a communist country. Today he lives in a $7M home, and he didnt even finish high school.
