Amphib's have a deck for helicopters harriers ospreys and other aircraft of that type. When fighting a shipboard fire you want to cool all of the surrounding compartments and decks in order to lessen the chance of damage to the structure of the ship keeping it cool lessens the chance of other serious issues that would have to be drydock repaired
They can launch helicopters and vertical takeoff planes like Harriers. They definitely have fire teams inside the well-deck and the surrounding areas. The cooling of the hull is probably from other ship's crews and local Fire Depts on the pier. They could have a magazine or some other flammable space adjacent to the fire.
BHR is a conventionally powered ship. If you knew anything about the Navy, you'd realize that her (sorry, conspiracy theory: a flattop claimed to be her) being berthed at 32nd Street indicates she's not a carrier. Carriers can't fit in any of NBSD's piers, they have to go to North Island.
They're spraying the outside of the ship the same reason they spray the outside of houses on fire, to just cool it down in general and minimize chance of embers escaping and tagging something else.
Why does that amphib ship have a deck to launch jets from, also why are the firefighters just spraying the metal on the outside of the ship?

This is a joke, right?

Amphibious Assault ships have decks for choppers. They aren’t equipped for jets. As for the firefighters idk.
LHAs and LHDs are non nuclear.
Cowabunga, dude!
