I was in that strikegroup and my ship had an industrial accident due to a contractor causing a spark in a void that was not yet gas tested. I say wait and see.

I’m gonna need more info, but there is a lot of hazardous shit that can happen on a ship. The military trains you to respond to accidents because they do and will happen.

The main purpose of this ship is to transport amphibious marines, and I was a corpsman attached to Marines. So my ship knowledge is pretty shit honestly lol

Since the well deck is designed to hold hovercraft tanks and all other sorts of vehicles and machinery, there are JP5 stations, some serious electrical capacity and a few other things.

I would hazard a guess if they were working on the flight deck which is right on top of the well deck That it is more than possible that this was an accident.

This does not however, mean that it couldn't have been a purposeful attack. I would wait for the lessons learned and a few other parts of the investigation that will be following to let us know what happened.
