A CNN viewer guy with a face mask and gloves converged on me in the milk section, mid way into his trajectory he realized he was breaching the 6 foot rule (prob 5 ft) and literally put up his hands to his face like a vampire seeing sunlight, jerked away in opposite direction, acting as though he narrowly escaped death.
Mass hysteria. There were a few instances where I thought I witnessed it in my life, but this is the real deal. We have mass fear on a level unseen before due to a virus that statistically only kills old people and with co-morbidities.
You are not going to die if you're young and get COVID. 20-40% of all people who get it don't even know they have it because they're asymptomatic. If you become mildly symptomatic and isolate, then you still contribute to herd immunity afterwards as a net benefit to everyone.
You can tell a lot of this is engineered because NOBODY is talking about the estimated point of herd immunity with these "skyrocketing cases".
I went to a beach type area here in CA. Everybody’s all spread out and plenty of open space in the fucking sun that kills the damn virus. Didn’t wear a mask. Out of a lot of people, I saw only a few others not wearing them like me, mostly people running, but even some of them had masks. I wasn’t even near other people and got death stares at times. Saw a Karen type 30 feet away or more looking at me like she wanted to shoot me. I wasn’t anywhere near anyone else the entire time. What’s a mask going to do, prevent a mugger from spreading the coronavirus to me? I saw fucking wind surfers with masks, out there in the middle of the fucking ocean.
Our police are more based. They’ll have a mask ready but they don’t wear them much since they don’t have to get up close to people and sneeze or spit on them all that often.
There is no ‘eradicating’ the virus. There’s either herd immunity or it mutating into something useless or both. Like the flu. It’s more contagious than the flu, and can be worse for some while less serious than the flu for others, but it’s the same damn thing. There isn’t going to be a magical vaccine. We can’t even beat the flu with vaccines. There hasn’t ever really been a successful vaccine for a coronavirus to my knowledge. I’m sure a product will come out claiming to be a vaccine, but it’s not going to do shit for the Wuhan flu.
I know more people than ever, even many that have never voted, that are registering just to vote for Trump over all this and more. People saying “we’re just going by the science! We can beat this, just stay home and wear a mask!” have no idea what they’re talking about. This all started from a couple of people in Wuhan. Then it spread to the entire world. Let’s say everybody stayed in to avoid it and magically only a couple people now had it left in existence across the entire world. Then they go back outside and now we start this whole thing all over again. The only way to ‘beat the virus’ is to get on with our damn lives. The point of all this was to avoid overloading the medical system, and we have instead put a good portion of it out of business. Curve’s been flat for fucking ever. People staying in are doing more harm than good, sans anyone this might actually have the small chance of killing, like 90 year olds and people already about to die.
Wife's friends husband is a total douche. He chewed his wife out for stopping at a local beach side park (never see anyone within 6ft either) with their daughter. He has kept that family under serious lockdown. Online food orders, non perishable that must stay outside for 3 days. Guy is losing his shit over this.
We have family members living in two different houses because one of them has gone crazy with locking down - so he's over there holed up, pasty from lack of sun with long hair, spraying everything down with alcohol....and the rest of us are doing great at the other house, living normal lives and having visitors over for bbq. The crazy is real.
