You mean the revisionist propaganda race piece, where "race" is removed because all the Founding Fathers have black or brown races?
Wonder why you wouldn't have heard of that much here...Hmmm...erasing white people, re-writing history....yeah, that's a real mystery.
I said it was irreverent. And yes it's questionable that many of the main characters and founding fathers are portrayed by blacks, but other than that I don't see much "revisionisism". Again, it tells the story of our founding. Have you seen it?
"Irreverent" is not the correct word. History is history. It is in fact racist. And now, I don't fund liberal theater trying to associate black faces with deeds they did not take part in. Should a white guy play Martin Luther King, Jr? Oh, no, never. And yet...
My thought?.. Hamilton and Crew should be shown no respect.. Just like they showed VP Pence no respect.. Nov 19, 2016 Just before the end of the performance, Pence, surrounded by Secret Service, exited the theater. The Vice President-elect was then asked by actor Brandon Victor Dixon to listen to his lecture about how a "diverse America" is "alarmed and anxious" about the incoming Trump administration. “We, sir — we — are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights,” Dixon said as Pence exited the building. Word of advise to Dixon and all the Hamilton actors/crew don't shoot each other, or People for that matter ok? ALL LIVES MATTER... A big Whaaaaa! to the now Commie/Disney Hamilton overpriced Circus.

I hear ya loud and clear and agree that was bullshit. As I mentioned previously, because of the Pence incident, I refused to watch this until it was free over Independence Weekend, then I loved it.
I agree with the revisionist comments here but also enjoyed it. If the creators weren't race-baiting leftists, people would be more amiable to what they did. The NY play made asses out of themselves when Mike Pence went to the show shortly after the '16 election when they berated him in front of the audience.
The show is good, there's no arguing that. Just that the actors and creators are largely a bunch of douche bags.
Agreed, in fact I refused to watch it after the Pence incident (and I remember hearing something about am effigy Trump being stabbed, Caesar style). But I allowed my family to watch it over Independence Weekend and I loved it.
My kids liked it, the obvious revisionist history move had me walk away. Understand it was a broadway play, my wife watched it with them but I had to walk away. There was not a single subliminal blow job reference in the 20 minutes I hung around, just crappy rap
Na, I stay FAR away from anything labeled “irreverent” because, unlike in say, 1994, when irreverent meant Bart Simpson, now it is a stand in word for bitchy leftists.
I couldn't figure out how the group (liberal)that wants democracy, majority rule, and heaven help the hindmost, was glorifying the founder who wanted to install government by a new monarchy and the educated elite. The guy who didn't trust the people to make their own decisions.
But they are the same group that loves the courts that strike down a vote of the people they don't like so...

Most of the cast is black. Only a few "white rich liberals". Have you seen it?

Cultural appropriation, but King George is fucking hilarious!!
Right!!? I find myself singing George III's parts around the house. "Da dada dada..."
Oceans rise, empires fall! Best 6 minutes of a broadway play ever!!
Ha! Yes. "You'll be back soon, you'll see, You'll remember you belong to me. You'll be back, time will tell, you'll remember that I served you well!"
So clever. I love the bad breakup reference.
"And when poosh comes to shove, I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of our love... dada dat dat dada day o"
