It is beyond ridiculous that he can profit off patents while employed by the US government. His patents are OUR parents.

You didn't build that, right fauci?

I'm honestly curious what Trump was thinking letting him take the podium so much during the daily briefings. It may one of the things he regrets when he reflects on his presidency.

I don't know. Fauci has been in his position for 35+ years. This gave the citizens the chance to get to know an unelected official who's making life and death decisions.

Scientific authority has been leveraged for political reasons for quite some time. See climate change alarmism. It could be a play to destroy that blind faith.

I would like to know who recommended Fauci to President Trump? Once Fauci got his foot in the door he could shoot off his mouth as much as he wanted. He was and is just as protected as Mueller and by the same people.

I wish that from no on when President Trump makes an appointment to anything he also announces the people and groups who recommended the person.

I wish he would do it retroactively, so that We The People can learn whose advice to trust going forward.

It's not about the glory pede. I have had the same experience. Some of us are ahead of others. Things really take off when a trusted source/publication catches on and shares. Doesn't mean that you can't be their source or inspiration to research deeper.

27
Pederrr 27 points ago +27 / -0

I'm not breaking this up about glory.

Just about facts being there long ago.

Whether we want to admit it or not, we're all made ADHD with social media and the media cycle.

I have folks at work who don't even know why we originally locked down. IT WAS TO FLATTEN THE CURVE, which flattened before we started locking down.

18
wwg1warrior 18 points ago +18 / -0

Yeah, moving the goalposts is a common technique that people aren't even aware that happens. Getting the word out unfortunately means repeating it too.

I had a Covid testing thing I brought up that went nowhere on this board. I had a guy see my post and ask if he could repost the info. He made up a whole meme graphic and it ended up getting stickied.

So sometimes its not the info, but how it is packaged. I keep that guy close if I ever find out good info I want to share as I know he is good at marketing it and making it a good meme.

7
Pederrr 7 points ago +7 / -0

It's all about info.

I hate sales.

Facts > Feelings, almost always (personal relationships, feelings > facts most of the time)

8
tentonbudgie 8 points ago +9 / -1

That's OK Pede, we all have our gifts. Turn your facts over to the marketers and let them sell it.

7
wwg1warrior 7 points ago +7 / -0

lol ... so true.

4
Nibba 4 points ago +4 / -0

Is it that everybody has ADHD, of that people do not have infinite time to catch every last post that comes across every board since ever and read every link that is in every board since ever? Don’t be so butt mad a few people missed your post. Go talk to your mom if you are that starved for attention.

3
Pederrr 3 points ago +3 / -0

Here's what I think:

Everyone scrolls through social media.

They read headlines and memes.

They care not for facts.

Whether they're involved or not, the headlines and memes cement into the minds of people as reality.

This is why anyone to the right of Mao has been purged. To ensure the programming.

Are you aware you're being conditioned the same way? Do you source what you see? Or does a meme convince you/confirm your bias?

Facts are facts. Nobody gives a shit about facts. They only care for short term comfort.

"I've had a great job for years, I'll just continue to spend what I make so I can't afford the testicular fortitude to stand up for what's right as the commies continues their revolution in line with history of the red guard and every other commie uprising" - Just about everyone

1
Nibba 1 point ago +2 / -1

I do a little bit of both because my time is limited. If I find it interesting or something that will affect me, I’ll source it and find out the details. Most of the time you can very obviously find that the facts have been blown out in every headline. However, if I scan the headline I won’t go spew it off act a fact later on. If I do go use it as a fact, I look into it, read it, verify it, then say it. Sometimes I’ll give sources sometimes not. If I don’t, the world of information is only a keystroke away. I’ve even went to go spew some headline off as fact, looked into it before doing that and found I was full of shit. But I do not take those headlines as hard facts.

Pederrr 2 points ago +2 / -0

Stand up for what's right or be ready for the blood that's on your hands.

A decade of me trying to fight for logic and reason. I just quit my job, explaining their woke policies are racist. It may not be enough, but it's something.

My buddy on my shift said to just be ready for when they're on your doorstep.... at that point many have already died needlessly when you could have prevented it. It's not about how many commies you kill, which is a badge of honor, but how many lives you could've saved peacefully.

We (the USA) was totally ok with WW2 for a long ass time. Plenty of antisemetic shit. We could've saved a lot of life if people had enough balls to do what was right at the beginning instead of waiting for their dorito supply to be cut off.

3
Doug 3 points ago +3 / -0

I've been sending that study to people for months as well, and I have posted it in comments here a few times over the last few months. Just spread the word and let people pull their heads out of their asses at their own pace.

2
Pederrr 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm losing patience. I've been trying to use reason and facts for a decade now.

jubyeonin -1 points ago +2 / -3

Because it was the NIH and now people want to say it was Fauci himself even though he did not say that himself.

8
Pederrr 8 points ago +8 / -0

It was his department.

Basically, my biggest gripe with the civilian world, is the issue here.

People have NO FUCKING IDEA WHAT THE FUCK IS ACTUALLY GOING ON.

He knew. He had to.

But my experience in the civilian world, 12 years running, is that people like to manage from a distance and have ZERO CLUE on what's actually happening day to day.

When a manager fails to manage their people? You punish the guy they failed to manage.

Sure, there are some cases where that's not true but 12 years of working in retail, kitchens, and manufacturing have PROVEN TO ME that the only standards in the civilian world are those you gotta call the gas company for to make sure you dig that low.

1
jubyeonin 1 point ago +3 / -2

Sure, but he never made any comments on it back then, so he has plausible deniability. We should be framing it in the way you just said, that he must have known. These new articles are making a bigger implication rather than just saying it's something that he should have known and probably did.

6
nonentity70 6 points ago +6 / -0

You do not understand how research works. If it was in his department, he had complete knowledge of what the results were. He may not have performed the work himself, but he was in the know and would have made critiques of the study and what would make it more powerful. I did research and that is how departments work. Everyone meets and gives updates on their data and all the other phd's, md's, etc ask questions and offer critiques.

Twitter link (before it's censored) leading to TruePundit article: Archived

Which in turn cites the original April 2020 article from OneNewsNow.com: Archived

Which in turn references the 2005 Virology publication touting [Hydroxy]chloroquine against COVID strains like SARS via NIH.org: Permalink

Here is another link directly to the same virology publication hosted by the current domain BioMedCentral: Archived

Here is the document itself: original link or stored at DocDroid

Thank you OP for sharing the find!

He also knows why there’s no sars vaccine. It’s because sars went away. There are so few cases that they could not do actual studies to see if it’s effective. I suspect the same will happen here.

If it was approved 15 years ago, how did it get unapproved or need to be re-approved or how did everyone forget or how did nobody check

4
thekindlyman555 4 points ago +4 / -0

This study was an in-vitro test. I'm guessing that since SARS pretty much disappeared, they never proceeded with clinical trials to get it formally approved.

But I'm seeing studies from 2014 talking about HCQ for MERS too...

So I have no idea how this hasn't been through clinical trials before 2020...

Bacillus Calmette–Guérin (BCG) vaccine (given outside the US in many countries as a general immunization against TB) is the likely solution. The 1918 influenza pandemic lasted officially until April 1920. BCG was first administered as an immunization in 1921, but was essentially in its present form in late 1919 in Paris . . .

3
ikuyas 3 points ago +3 / -0

That's been discussed and talked about quite a bit by Japanese Corona virus discussion. But they never strongly go for this route. The most popular argument on the virus is about the drug called Avigan which was developed for Ebola and the Japanese government has a stock for 2 millon people for influenza pandemic. I know about this since the beginning of Feburay, and first I saw in the U.S. media was in Politico at the end of May. Then, Japanese government just never really try to give it a go despite the fact that the drug has been proved to be very effective with little side effect while they allowed remidesible(?) to be available without no satisfactory trials.

4
everydaybetter 4 points ago +4 / -0

remsedevir is a new drug and allows manufacturers (including licensed manufacturers as opposed to the developer) to make boatloads of money.

BCG is a 100 yrs old plus and while it costs more than $100 in US, it is apparently 25 cents in South Africa at mass immunization program cost. Avigan is a generic so is HCQ.

I am not prone to claim conspiracies, but seriously if the old stuff is even marginally effective why not use it?

1
ikuyas 1 point ago +1 / -0

Avigan is not a generic, but you can make generic Avigan. You just need to ask Fujifilm who has a patent.

1
ikuyas 1 point ago +1 / -0

Avigan has a very good track record. It basically prevents the virus multiply any further. So, it gives body a time to flight it. It worked very very well on Ebola patients in African back in 2012, worked very well on SARS type around the same period of time. It comes with very minor side effect, and just don't let pregnant women and male who gives pregancy take it. Literally, there is zero report of any negative side effect from taking this drug.

3
Reddit_refuge3 3 points ago +3 / -0

Any Governor who banned this drug from the people should be thrown in jail for manslaughter. You decided to play politics to hurt our President and people died.

I am hoping there are lawyers getting ready to sue the sh!t out of doctors, hospitals and state governments where HCQ was withheld to the thousands of people who should not have died. I am disgusted that there was big financial gain for COVID + patients being rushed to a ventilators which for most, was a death sentence.
