Lifelong Catholic, from a (mostly) Catholic family, and on the 4th of July my mother approached me to discuss her concerns with Pope Francis. I've been less than enthusiastic about him since he got in, but if even my mother is questioning him then he has very little support among Catholics. I should note, I do not count Christmas-and-Easter churchgoers as Catholic, I imagine most of them are fine with Francis. I long for the firm leadership of Benedict and John Paul. We have had bad Popes in the past, hopefully we will weather this one and get a good successor. If not, well, I'm sure the Orthodox will take me in.

Im a God Fearing, non-religious man. Unfortunately, the Catholic Church did a lot to lose people like me. It’s unfortunate because it probably directly correlates to the lack of enthusiasm to support it now.
