Y'know the GREATEST day in Republican history imo was when the Senators SAVED Trump from impeachment. That took guts. Must admit I thought he was a goner because ALL politicians, as you say, have their hand in a cookie jar. Lots of cookie jars. Some have their hands in the till. And some infuse the blood of tortured children (I digress).
The art it seems is to extricate the REAL filth from the not so filthy; and disentangle their tentacles so they don't drag the rest down with them. Quite hard I'd imagine.
