From what I understand, it sounds like a hit job. The report I read this morning said that a delivery man came to his door. His roommate answered the door. The delivery man told him that the lawyer needed to sign for the delivery. The lawyer went to sign for it and was shot 5 times. The delivery man left. Nothing taken.
Again - that was an early report I read so if someone has more verifiable information, please let us know.

CPS will only intervene for good if they are pressured to from above. They might be too busy on the political revenge cases to actually get around to legit abuse.
Worked as a 2nd grade teachers aide years ago. We had a kid who would come in every day without eating breakfast. This was a Title 1 poor area school, so the kid was on the list for free breakfast and lunch, and his parents were too lazy to get him to school on time, but never failed with his little sister.
He came in with massive bruises 3 times from his father throwing him against metal pipes beating the shit out of him (father sold drugs in a local Mexican gang). We called CPS 3 times and finally on the 3rd time they said "Look, you guys need to stop calling us. It's obvious he's being abused, but we don't step in with boys unless he tries to kill himself or he's willing to testify against his father in court."
As a rank and file CPS worker in the Northeast, I’m not sure what to make of this. I have never seen CPS involved in child trafficking in any way. Is it possible? Sure. Might California be doing their own thing here? Sure. I would think that the average CPS worker is well-intentioned and this sort of thing could only take place if orchestrated by top administrators.
