A representative Republic is.... a Representative Democracy.
What do you do to elect the representative? You vote right?
A democracy, not a DIRECT democracy, is nothing but a style of governance where the people vote to choose their government.
Same way that a Republic is not a free state, but just a nation that is not headed by a monarch but an elected official. What you're saying is we are a Republic that elects it's representatives with a vote by the people.
A Representative Democracy.
What the US is is a FEDERATED Republic governed by a Representative Democracy.
The original Democracies didn't allow everyone to vote.... or did you forget you had to be a land owning citizen in Greece too?
Just remember that all these things you hate and call perversions were implemented by the people with the right to vote. People when given the choice between having the vote for every citizen or keeping it to land owners gave it to everyone.
As they should because they in fact did require military service from every man. Serve your country but no vote? Doesn't seem right. But that is all deeper discussion we aren't having right now.
I am simple trying to clarify your definitions. China is a Republic. Is China the same as the US? Is it the same system? They have representatives too. Are they a Representative Republic, technically yes. But they aren't right?
