Not everyone who plays sports becomes a consumer of pro sports. Participating in sports can teach youth the value of teamwork and how to win and lose gracefully. No matter how special your parents tell you that you are, competition serves up a heaping dose of reality.

Isn’t there a theory that it takes only about 10% of people to be passionate about something in order for their passion to invoke major change? I remember reading about it once. Clearly, there is an effort to make us ashamed of our country. One of their sub-efforts has been to attack statues, names, places. I am annoyed that they have gone after the Redskins and will see this as a victory.
With that said, I can live with the Redskins becoming something else. It is terrible that we have to lose continuity with decades of that organization. Nonetheless, the name can go -- it's a little dated and I can't see an NFL expansion team in the modern era wanting to name itself after a skin tone (bear with me here, I realize that's simplistic).

I don't live in DC. I'm from NJ, but live in GA now. Don't know what made me pick the hogs as a kid, but that's the team I chose to follow back in the day.
They were a great team in the late 80s/ early 90’s. I was always worried when the Eagles played them because you didn’t know who was going to come out on top.
That's when I was a kid, so you can surely understand my lifelong passion for the Redskins. I've personally met a number of them from the Championship era, in fact, one of my best friends as a kid was the son of a Super Bowl Champ Redskin.
