100p man. im in the same scene as you. grew up with punk and metal roots. everything was anti establishment and anti authoritarian. now its all just following the herd. it sucks too. like actually strike anywhere is coming out with a new EP and lyrically if you take it generically, the words are pretty decent. but a music video comes out and literally has a quote from Karl Marx. you just hate to see it. but thats what happens when people dont improve their lives they just like to complain. I was a punk in high school but got my shit together in college, in my career and with my family. I will never lose my love for that sound and style of music though. screw em

What really did it for me was when I saw Social Distortion with a buddy of mine a year or so ago and they did nothing but bash Trump and conservatives between songs. My friend was separated from me by the pit but we turned and saw each other through the crowd realizing how phoney the whole thing had become.

Rancid is my favorite band perhaps and I just ignore the lefty lyrics, or I take from them what they mean to me; not necessarily what they mean to someone else, including the band. "Ghetto Box" has a lyric that says "Nazi cops fuck you!" and I hear that as "Authoritarians, fuck off" not literally "Cops are bad, because they're cops and cops are bad". I've had bad interactions with cops, and good ones. Some cops are dicks, most are probably legit dudes.
It all takes a bit of thought. Every time you hear something, it takes a bit of thought to process it. If you just process it without thinking - you end up out in a street mob doing dumb shit.
If they want to truly "burn down the system", they're going to be very dismayed to find that those of us (like me) who can no longer care for our loved ones are going to gut them alive. I am a savage, maintained by the system which I have accepted. It's not "the system of the powerful" - it's the system of the workers willing to fucking work their balls off. I'm okay with it. I just spent the weekend doing work. I accept it, because the alternative is that the mayhem within me is unleashed upon the world, and I'm not ready to face that myself. Why these people think they're ready to go toe-to-toe with guys like us is beyond me.

You don't have to get in trouble at work. Just keep a mask in your office and 'forget' to put it on repeatedly. If anyone confronts you, just play dumb. Pushing the boundaries of their authority little by little without provoking a confrontation is enough to convince the people around you that their rules are a joke. Pretty soon others will 'forget' too and the whole thing becomes unenforceable.
Yep. I have to wear a mask to go inside businesses here, but never wear a mask outside. If I walk up to a window or outdoor ordering counter I never wear a mask. Not once have I been asked to put it on...
To me, the businesses can make their own policies and I don't have to give them my business. They will refuse service and refuse to ring you up at the register without your face diaper. That's happened to me once. But government mandates is where I draw the line and I will not wear it whenever I'm in a public space or outdoors. I don't care what the cops may or may not do. If ticketed, I'll fight it in court, I don't care.

The media has come down on my state hard for not wearing masks. Says we are the world's Hotspot at the moment. My county mandated masks and I've been going without. Fortunately, I haven't been hassled (yet.) I HAVE been shocked to go into a fairly busy store and see everyone, and I do mean everyone else wearing masks. It's concerning how easily be allow themselves to be controlled. If this were as bad as the media and deep state make it out to be, I wouldn't blame them. But why can't they see it's all scare tactics and control measures? Are that many people that stupid?
