They will spread it out over 5 years and sneak it up to 40%. Pretty much what they did here. You basically must appeal every hike.

Will government officials give up their salary? What's that? They won't even take a pay cut?? They pay thousands, we pay millions, this is what they want.

How many personal projects do they have? Take the money from that instead.

Property taxes make you a slave to the state. Pay us in perpetuity or else we take away your home sounds like slavery to me. We need an amendment to make taxes like these illegal.

If you have to pay even a penny to the state at any point in the future to stay on that property, you don’t own it. Couple that with imminent domain and it is no different than a ChiCom 99 year lease.

Property and income tax were allowed for war time, and are otherwise unconstitutional. I think income tax has only been around since about the time of WWI.

Income Tax was at least one thing from the federalist papers I disagree with, I understand government needs funding, but there is far too much waste, corruption, and lack of accountability to people who are paying for everything, and that is we the people, the actual net tax payers.

The founding fathers missed a trick here. The max fixed percentage of tax the Govt is allowed to steal should have been written in the constitution. It should have been a 10% sales tax and that's all.
