My guess:. Assorted spare parts and drum mags. Possibly only drum mags in parts. As drum mags on military tooling for AKs are one thing China does sort of well.
The parcel was manifested as containing 100 Steel Pin Samples – a common practice used by smugglers for contraband trafficking.
It's more like a common practice of every Chinese eBay and Amazon seller. I've never gotten a package from China that accurately reflected the contents.
It's great that President Trump is phasing out the US postal discount China gets, but the timetable for the phase out needs to be accelerated.
This is fake news--The parts were the safety selector pin, a $6.39 part on Midway.com. The Customs weenies estimated the "street Value" at $12, which is clearly inflated. As for this being an assault weapon part, I suppose it is, in the same way a sling or a roll pin is.
I keep reading about these smuggled in weapons...I want one. Im all on board with getting a free gun. Supply and demand is crazy right now. The only thing that has me worried would be the "made in china" stamped on it.
Some idiots at Norinco beloved their "Mafia" "contact" in the US had a ready illegal domestic market for not only full auto AKs and surpressors in volume (probably possible), but also recoilless rifles, anti-tank rockets, and surface to air missiles (at full price).
No such thing as an assault weapon. 🙄
"Full auto/Selective fire conversion bits".
The press would call these "Machine guns". ;)

Hmm, maybe they were to assemble weapons in the US, to be given to China supporters to use for some reason.
Can I get some of those?
How about no more shipments from China?
I'd be willing to help assemble them if we could get them to the people of Hong Kong.
So like, way less than 1% of the guns we already have?
The reason China was stopped from importing guns into the US (but not Canada) was this: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1996-05-24-mn-7854-story.html

Thanks for finding this article. I was in LA when this happened. I asked a lot of people around the country and no one else had heard about it.
How else am I supposed to get parts for my ar16?
