Like, it took over 20 years of hearing Rush Limbaugh saying that the left projects and that everything they accuse you of is the stuff they are doing, before I finally could really see it for myself. Now, you may not have time to talk to your friend every day to counteract the hourly brainwashing by the media. But, I think this is where you can sometimes (hopefully) turn people on to sane voices who do the convincing for you, via your favorite podcast or columnist. I like to tell people to go to listen to the No Agenda podcast with John C Dvorak and Adam Curry. They are not conservative or pro-trump, but they talk about the manipulation in the media and how the narrative is spun. They are always commenting on TDS and how the media is against Trump (because it almost always is). Then, once people realize that they are being fed a bunch of brainwashing crap, they are much easier to speak with and convince.
Half of the reason I comment on lefty posts on Facebook is to calmly share my point of view and let onlookers see a reasoned man talking to people who are quick to turn to name calling or outrage. I think it let's others know that there are right wing types that are not crazy and there is an appeal about people who remain level headed.
