We've been actively accusing them of spreading a virus and tons of privately owned companies have moved their production from China to here or Mexico. They still resort to subterfuge and throwing tantrums, but they've never been full on belligerent. Any further action against Hong Kong or Taiwan is just a ploy to garner nationalist pride.
Once we decouple China will struggle with their energy situation and food situations. The country will implode as a unified nation and I honestly only see the south coast being a major player in this decade.
On top of that the Japanese have a neat little secret- the second most capable expeditionary navy behind America and an army the size of the UK's. I guarantee you if we decide to pull out of the eastern hemisphere we'll be telling Shinzo to let that shit loose.
