Targeting blacks as a whole is ineffective, black women vote 95% for Democrats. Black men are slightly more malleable but have lower turnout. An effective strategy I think would be in targeting working class black fathers, but even then 75% of black kids are born out of wedlock. I agree that the efforts to convince them to vote for Republicans are probably a waste of time, if Trump loses its going to be because of the amount of political capital he spent trying to win over blacks and hispanics over increasing white turnout.
It didn't flip blue, it got colonized by Hispanics and Asians. The white share of the population has shrunk from 92% in 1960 to 40% now. That is a 50% change in the population distribution in two generations.
