Proabably a lot of whites jumped to the Leftist bandwagon as well because of popular music and culture from Hollywood Celebrities. A whole generation of white people who see being an electrician and a plumber or mechanic as a bad job but an “influencer” or actor as a good one.
As much as I’d like to disagree because plenty of Hispanics and Asians are originally Conservative (socially anyway) but they still stupidly vote Democrat because they’ve been told that Republicans are all White Racists and they’re too lazy or stupid to realize that freedom and liberty has nothing to do with race.
It has less to do with them being told that Republicans are racist and more to do with the fact that in a multi-racial society the different ethnic groups are going to begin competing for government resources. They vote democrat because of boss tweed style politics within the inner cities. Second generation Asians vote more for Democrats than Republicans. There certainly an avenue to convince Asians to switch over, family based policies, anti-drug, and affirmative action angle could be effective.
It didn't flip blue, it got colonized by Hispanics and Asians. The white share of the population has shrunk from 92% in 1960 to 40% now. That is a 50% change in the population distribution in two generations.
