Seriously though, there are certain things which are regional. The Texas Rangers fall in that category of things that I think only a Texan can really appreciate. Their reputation is legendary and they're not seen in the same way as standard police. It's an aura of the "Old West". But I guess you'd have had to grow up watching "The Lone Ranger" and "Tales of the Texas Rangers" to appreciate it. And even I don't fully get the mystique because I'm not a Texan.
