The majority of my property taxes go to public school district...if you cannot guarantee every child's butt will be in a seat learning 5 days a week, at a minimum between 8-3, then i shouldn't have to pay that portion of my property taxes ...if you take away the school house, you take away many kids only free meal every weekday, you take the away the community responsibility to that child.
I am starting to look forward to that cascadia earthquake to rip a good 9.2 to destroy and drown Seattle, Portland and Northern California....and my fingers are crossed that the cascadia quake will trigger its buddy, the San andreas
Part of the delay in closing schools was figuring out how to distribute food to the kids in need. I can’t speak for everywhere, but near me the school district has bent over backwards delivering food even during summer. They’ve got guys running bus routes. One of my wife’s friends has four kids and the school has received so much emergency aid that they insist she take food even though she doesn’t need or want it. She said that between her garden and the food deliveries she hasn’t bought food in almost 3 months.

I think we need to exercise a reasonable level of care to mitigate The Germ, but to say we couldn’t start school with at least a rotating schedule and 50% capacity seems completely absurd. I think it could be fully open, but even if we need to appease the fear mongers there has to be a middle ground that they’ll accept. This shit is absurd.

The 2 day in 3 day out rotation is a popular option for schools on the east coast because it's about the only way to square the state mandated guidelines without requesting a ton of funding for more buses, staff, etc.
The problem is that even with the guidelines met, the unofficial expectation of nearly everyone in education is that the governors will shut us down around the end of September/beginning of October. Teachers are starting to get angry with the system.
The responses from the leftist to that Tweet are almost incredible. A picture of a protest, in a state under total Democrat control, and somehow trying to say the President is at fault for the crazy liberals not understanding the "dangers" of spreading the Kung Flu.
