In rural US, it actually feels pretty tame. I certainly don't feel threatened out here as a white dude. Especially if the black kid is wearing fancy, spotless, basketball shoes. Fancy stuff like that actually makes me feel more comfortable because it tells me that they are likely not about to mix things up.
In the city, though, where there are daily protests, I avoid people who travel in groups, especially if they are wearing similar clothing. You gotta be more careful around people who are wearing boots or rugged sneakers. And if they are walking in the street, I find a different road.
I have had to travel for work, so I get to see the differences. Ngl, I keep my gun in the city. That's where I'm most concerned about the anarchists. There seems to be no need for it out in the rural areas.

Just a heads up for your own safety, I'd like to inform you that there is a new breed of criminal that specifically dresses nice so that you let your guard down. This was in the city though, I heard a few incidents at my previous job were items were stolen by thieves who were dressed up.
That seems counter-productive, but in the city, you don't need to run very far to hide.
Good point, but I suppose it's really just about rural vs city, then. Black kids in a rural area are just trying to escape to "bigger and better" things, just like every other rural kid. It's the city kids you gotta worry about.
