I could be on deaths doorstep and I swear I will never go back. Did a detailed post about it here way back when. They shut down the majority of the hospital to make room for covid patients, of which they had two, in recovery.
I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I've been going to the VA for 20+ years and have had several surgeries through them. I've almost always had extraordinary care. The ER visit I had a several weeks ago was pretty bizarre with people wearing the moon suits but the one where I went 2 weeks ago was smooth. Only a few people wearing the full blow up suit and the majority wearing only a surgical mask. I asked the nurse about it and she said it was up to the individual but their opinion was the Covid thing was done and over. They hadn't had a positive test come back in several weeks and hadn't had a Covid patient staying overnight or longer in over a month. This was info from an ER nurse and it's possible she was wrong but I had seen her in the past and always flirt her up so we have a pretty straight conversation like hanging out with a friend in a bar. She said most of her colleagues think it's a scam at this point but they still need to play the game.
I don't know why that would be. Maybe they were running low on testing kits?
Thank you for your service, Fren!

Good thing they furloughed all the English speaking nurses, though. Kept all the Hindi ones. I’m so done with Dallas.

I hope you are all healed up, brother.
