It's amazingly hilarious as it is ironic that their wokeness is erasing every reference of every person of color, native and other non-white immigrants from everyday visibility.
My brother-in-law is Cherokee, and comes from a large family. Every single one of them worship the Redskins. In any group picture, at least half of the people will be wearing something obviously Redskins.
Years ago I asked him about it, because we live in what is known as "Cowboy Country" and it's not that common to find someone who roots against the Cowboys. He just pointed to the logo and said "It's me".
I haven't spoken to him since the team announced the name and mascot change, but I can't imagine he's too happy about it.
Wait. They caved and changed the name and mascot? What are they now? Reminds me of the Greendale Human Beings from Community with that slender man lookin mascot so as to not offend anyone lol
They haven't officially announced a change, just that they're looking at making a change. Which just means they're going over all of their options to pick something that won't offend anyone and they're having a hard time.
A lot of people here wear them too. The only ones who don’t are the moderately intelligent young people that were swooped away to big universities to fill the diversity bingo card.
I dont get how the logo is offensive. It looks pretty cool. Comparable to the Chicago Blackhawks, which is considered by many the best nhl jersey of all time. It's not like the goofy, cartoonish Cleveland Indians mascot that the club barely uses anymore.
War paint here was red and black (made of ochre) and some warriors painted most of their faces and heads bright red. The designs were ceremonial and personal for each warrior.
After all references to Indians removed from all sports teams Native Americans will fade from history like everything else. In a sense, they are tearing down all monuments to the Native Americans themselves.
I guarantee you if the logo was "blackskins" instead of "redskins" and the owner tried to change it they'd accuse him of being a racist and would threaten to murder his entire family.
Yes but it's offensive to white liberals! (they know better than silly drunken Native Americans)
What would be of minorities without white liberal allies telling them what should offend them. Helicopter rides to all those traitors

Really? What kind of injun are you?
Okay cool 😎👍🏼
Their legitimizing myth is being the "vanguard of history"

Blackhawks are next just watch.
They've been trying, it's just that Blackhawk isn't something that can be pointed to as a racial slur, so it hasn't gained much traction.

"Shut up. What do you know? I'm the judge of what's offensive." -White Lefists
I'm a proud injun and I wear the name "redskin" like a badge of honor. Maybe at one point it was used as a derogitory term but it isn't anymore.
Mon-ahh-who 👋🏼 fellow injun.
So same as Land O Lakes also designed by someone proud of their heritage now being erased from the public.
I see many Native men and women with Redskins decals on their cars and wearing the jerseys proudly where I live. It is nowhere near DC.
Also owners don’t name their (billion dollar) franchises after weak symbols. They are homages to positive aspects.
Stupid Indian, it's only offensive to guilt ridden brainwashed white liberals... duh!

They should make the logo a white guy and call it the whiteskins.
I prefer this design.
Hey, that's enough critical thinking from you today!

How do you say Uncle Tom in Cherokee
Chub-uhh Doo-Goo 👍🏼
He needs to shut up and listen to the white liberals who know what's best for him. /S
