My brother-in-law is Cherokee, and comes from a large family. Every single one of them worship the Redskins. In any group picture, at least half of the people will be wearing something obviously Redskins.
Years ago I asked him about it, because we live in what is known as "Cowboy Country" and it's not that common to find someone who roots against the Cowboys. He just pointed to the logo and said "It's me".
I haven't spoken to him since the team announced the name and mascot change, but I can't imagine he's too happy about it.
Wait. They caved and changed the name and mascot? What are they now? Reminds me of the Greendale Human Beings from Community with that slender man lookin mascot so as to not offend anyone lol
They haven't officially announced a change, just that they're looking at making a change. Which just means they're going over all of their options to pick something that won't offend anyone and they're having a hard time.
