I decided to read the comments. The first one is, perhaps, the most egregious case of mental impairment I have seen in years.

I'm quoting the entire thing so as not to be subject to "selective quoting"

With gun violence raging in NewYork city, The question once again is WHAT DOES NYC DO ABOUT IT?. Well, NYC has the toughest gun laws in America. Guess what they didn’t work. and won’t work.

Sounds pretty good at this point ... the toughest gun laws in the US and Kyle acknowledges that they don't work.

Don't worry though ... he's gonna disappear up his own arsehole shortly:

The main reason anti gun politicians can’t get any reasonable gun legislation past is, The NRA and other groups use big cities like New York, Chicago, And Los Angeles as example of the failure of “tough” gun laws. These city always prove their point “if you take away citizens gun rights, then only criminals will have guns.” And gun owners in other states see this and say “hell no we don’t want that here”.

But Kyle ... you just admitted that the gun laws don't work. And now you want MORE?

So, since the laws didn’t stop the guns, what did NYC do about stopping gun violence? They created the anti crime division of the NYPD. A task force that was supposed to get out on the street and and get the criminals where they operated and get guns off the street. Instead it turned in to a civil and human rights abuse machine that operated like a street gang on steroids, only operating in communities of color to generate low level arrest and give the department and the previous Mayors good crime stats, Oh, and once in a while catch somebody with a gun.

But Kyle, you mindless NPC ... didn't you read the article. Since that unit was disbanded there has been a 277% increase in gun crime over the same time last year.

In other words, they were clearly very effective.

Speaking of reading the article ... did you notice where the crimes are taking place Kyle? Yes ... in 'communities of color'. Seems that the cops went where the crime was. Isn't that their job?

Stop and frisk had a 90% failure rate when it came to guns. It also cost the taxpayers of New York 1 billion dollars in lawsuits over 12years. So flash forward to May 25,2020 George Floyd is murdered by the Minneapolis police for allegedly using a fake 20 dollar bill. And, across the country protest and riots break out demanding an end to overly aggressive police policies, like the kind used by New York’s Anti crime unit. So in response to the overwhelming hostile response to the police and it’s tactics. The Mayor and the Police commissioner decide (and rightfully so) to disband the anti crime unit. Now with an uptick in gun violence in the city in the past few weeks. They are considering bringing back the Anti Crime Unit. It been said one of the first signs of insanity is doing the same thing time and time again and expecting a different result. well if they bring back the Anti Crime Unit in its old form that would be a perfect example. (Just sit back andwait for the new round of riots.) Instead if it is brought back, it should be giving a new directive. Forget that “broken windows crap” which focused on low level arrest i.e. loitering, open container, jaywalking (that were always use as pretext arrests with the hope of finding something else.) and put the main focus on finding and stopping the source and the flow of gun in to the streets of New York.

So what you're saying Kyle is that the methods they employed were effective, but didn't comply with your regressive narrative. Because of the inconvenient fact that the majority of the crimes and criminals were in 'communities of color'.

And while we're at it ... you do NOT get to say 'allegedly' about the fake 20 dollar bill and skip 'allegedly' by declaring George Floyd's death a murder. Due process has not been carried out ... no trial has taken place. DO try to get your head out of your colon.

If New York wants to truly stop gun violence then go after the guns (NOT PEOPLE). where are these kids and punk criminals buying their guns. where is their supply coming from? If they can’t get them, they can’t used them. Hopefully this time they will truly try to solve the gun problem, not just generate crime statistics to look good.

You've already admitted ... in your very first paragraph ... that gun laws DO NOT WORK.

The reality is, Kyle, that the blood is on YOUR hands. You and everyone like you who protested about the death of a drug fucked serial criminal who thought nothing of pressing a pistol to the belly of a pregnant woman.
