Being that I work in public education, leave it. Never look back. Get into a home-school co-op where you can hire highly qualified teachers concerned with the education of the pupil and not the indoctrination of the pupil. I’m concerned with the unbiased education of the pupil. My plan is to leave public education within the next year because it is a cesspool. I was so glad President Trump made his Tweet the other day about the education systems for grade school and college accusing them of being indoctrination camps because THEY ARE. I have heard it, I have seen it, and I have tried to reprogram students to make students think independently and question “Why?” instead of accepting something just “is.”
Good. No Child Left Behind destroyed American education. It catered to the least effective students and left behind the most talented. It has been a colossal waste.
My education was not great back in the 60's, 70's and 80's. It depended on school district and still does. Schools here in Utah are the most conservative I have seen. All staff with permits in the district I live in can carry in the schools, also visitors. Concealed on the body only, never purses or desks.
This seems to be the problem overall with the left - they aren't able to think for themselves anymore. Every opinion is just regurgitated shit that they heard from someone else. They can't think critically and forms their own opinions, which is probably why they have zero self awareness.
If a student says “I feel...” I tell them immediately I don’t care what they feel, tell me what you know and can argue with objective facts, data, and statistics.
Do you have any idea how threatening that is? Do you??? That's not a microaggression, that's like, it's like this MACRO aggression thing, right?---A major aggression, right? I mean like it's a really really BIG aggression or something, is what I'm saying, okay? How dare you, like, violate my safe space and stuff and trample all over my feels! And you know what else, fascist?
I'd also suggest looking into online schooling. Even the 'public' online schools are much better then brick and mortar, and it's impossible to hide what they're teaching from actively engaged parents.
Also, if you really want to say "Fuck you!" to a liberal state, I'd suggest K12 for online schooling. They're basically the education credits Mafia.
I hated the online schooling programs I tried. The were boring and used textbooks instead of digging deep. Kind of like lots of sound bites, and they graded too easy. Eventually I gave up and sent them to community college which was a fantastic experience for my kids.
I'm admittedly biased since I was in nearly all AP classes throughout my online career. While we had textbooks, we were always pushed to use other source from nearly any online site. Plus there were lots of discussion assignments, with free and open forums for the students to actually debate and criticize eachother's arguments. It was fun for me, but I may just be a weeee bit tismy, so take it with a grain of sugar.
To be fair my oldest is 29 and went to community college at 15 after I gave up on online programs. I think they have improved dramatically. I am in online college getting another degree right now and all the issues I saw have been solved. The programs may be much better now.
On the subject of AP classes, I think real college classes are better. With online college my fellow students are all ages and scattered all over. I feel like there is more diversity and so fare Oregon State is allowing polite diversity of opinion. The administration is cucked and some of the professors, but many profs are not and I am in liberal arts this time. I got a STEM degree with a German minor the first time and I am going for a Spanish degree this time.
How long ago were you doing online school and through what program? When my daughter was applying to college 9 years ago they told her they did not take AP credits and she had to explain that she was taking real college classes with college students, not AP. Unfortunately she went full SJW within a few years of college graduation. I am glad my boys did not go.
I didn't use coops, we got the social from extracurricular activities like scouting (before it went down the tubes, I am older), music, sports. I started at age 8 and took it easy teaching mastery of reading, writing and math. Between ages 13 and 15 they started community college depending on the kid. We used original sources and not textbooks. 90% of regular school is busywork and not learning
Sure, instead of reading about a historical period, the kid reads an autobiography like the one by Benjamin Franklin, excellent book. Instead of reading about the constitution the kid reads the constitution. Depending on the kid good historical fiction can be fun as well, I love the
G. A. Henty books, they are geared toward The12 year olds, but are at today's college level reading and very popular with homeschoolers. They are where Churchill learned his history. The idea is that instead of learning everything scattershot, you dive in deep and the kid learned so self teach. By about age 11 or 12 the parent steps back and at most guides.
This is aside from your question, but with math my kids would read the teacher manual, watch the videos, do the homework, correct it, and only involve me if they got less than an A or did not understand why something was wrong. I would work on my own stuff, follow up on the studies, and supervise.
Obviously in the younger grades the parent has to teach directly. Much of what we did to learn was just normal life for us and not labeled as school, like reading books aloud. There are many very good reading lists so the kids don't have to read something they hate. The Well Trained Mind has excellent lists.
These methods work best with a highly educated parent, but as long as the parents stay ahead of the kids and keep learning it can work fir anyone. If the parents are lazy or don't enjoy learning the kids might do better with a more canned and processed program to bypass the parent. One size never fits all.
The one super valuable thong I got from school was getting to know people who were very different from me and I tried to provide that for my kids.
Well, first, I would check what your state says about homeschooling, unfortunately, I don’t know much about the procedures for homeschooling. I’m sorry I can’t be much help, but I would suggest researching about how to establish a co-op. I just know my children will be homeschooled and I will continue to build my personal library for that purpose. I want them to have freedom to explore knowledge without fear of oppression of thought for being the incorrect race or saying the incorrect slogan anymore. They won’t be sheltered, but they will be aware of what’s going on in the world.
TONS of info online.
begin by researching Statewide Programs which may have little satellites near you.
There should always be a co-op component, as this is where kids interact.
The co-op association which meets in my church has Baseball teams that play other co-ops, as well as local Public Schools.]; we have Orchestra, Ballet, and special Tutoring for Language skills and Science classes.
GO for it!!!
I liked my kids interacting with the whole community. The coops I tried all had weird interpersonal politics. I was either too relaxed or too strict. Many had hard core ideologies and did not like anyone who had a different philosophy. My kids just did regular activities with mixed groups. There was one group we eventually found that did park days and was very open and enjoyable, but I don't think they are essential
Perhaps bullying isn't the right word - too many connotations that weren't intended. I'm also from a red area (US South); I'd argue that my family-save the black sheep idiot brother of mine-is not soft. From personal experience, it's not the physical stuff I'm worried about. It's the "growing up as a scrawny nerd in the 'dark' part of town" part of schools that is bad. BJJ/MMA/etc. don't matter much when it's you against a horde of retards and if you fight back you're expelled because "muh diversity." I don't want their futures destroyed or for them to be cancelled because they want to have traditional values.
My kind of homeschooler. I had zero desire to shelter my kids, they need toughening to prepare for life. Problem was I wanted them to learn to read, write, do math and know proper English so homeschooling it was. I got them into martial arts and that could be a good fit for you. Research the school thoroughly. Let me know if you have any questions on how to keep the, exposed. Some states we lived in allowed our kids to go to school for sports and some classes. My daughter went to orchestra. My son ran track. Then we moved, but community college really gave them good exposure as we lived in LA. Most people seemed to think I was sheltering my kids, but the local public schools had nothing like the grittiness of our community college. Let me know if you have any questions about working the systems. I raised a Marine and my kids are tough
Awesome, as I said my kind of homeschooler. Prepare to be alone, wussy parenting is the norm right now. It is a pity kids don't run loose in neighborhoods anymore, they learn a ton that way. I still see it since I moved to Utah because the families are too big for the parents to micromanage
Does the money that is usually given to the school district for your child given to the parents?
Ron Paul set us a wonderful asset for people who want to home school it is called Curriculum:
If you are looking for a curriculum for your children that will enable them to attain academic success in college, yet which frees up parents from the tasks of creating daily lesson plans and hands-on teaching, this curriculum is for you.
This is a college preparation program, but it also teaches students how to start a home business. It is a practical program.
Does the money that is usually given to the school district for your child given to the parents?
Absolutely not. In fact, homeschooling families massively subsidize the system by paying property taxes while not using school resources. Studies have also shown that home schooled children cost 5% as much as public school students to educate and achieve better results. It's almost as if children learn best through real-world experiences and from their parents, both of which they are deprived of when locked in a white room all day with a bunch of children and misfits, listening to a leftist drone on about something that either doesn't matter or could be learned more effectively, faster, through self-study or online resources.
The only reason people tolerate public schools is because of the "free" childcare. If schools reopen in the fall at 2/5ths capacity which is what my local school district plans on doing and parents are still expected to homeschool their children the other 3/5ths of the time, the public school system as we know it will not be tolerated for much longer.
It absolutely is. The teacher's unions and democrats are shooting themselves in the foot with the school closures. They had a good--in their view--thing going with the indoctrination camps known as public school, and right now they are actively undermining the public school system and pushing people to homeschooling and private school.
Neighbors home schooled their children 3 of 'em. They are ALL successful!!!!
Wish I had been home schooled. That-maybe- would have saved me from years of drinking and drugs in jr. High and highskrool...
We also plan to homeschool. The only issue with it ever is that kids are often un-socialized, but if you’re even remotely decent parents you should be socializing them regularly anyway. lol
Good luck with the endeavor! I’m looking forward to it as well.
Previously home-scheduled Pede here, There are a ton of ways to socialize, it just takes being active in the community and making the effort.
But if they’re going to make kids do school online again then I’d say the socialization part is moot at least for this school year.
I homeschool my son, and I have to say: you still need to be actively involved, because the curriculum can still be gross. It's not english anymore, it's language arts. It's not history anymore, it's social studies. In science, global warming is accepted as fact. In every history lesson, a section explains how blacks and other minorities were affected by whatever the topic is. They are portrayed as permanent victims.
I'm so glad that I get the opportunity to be so involved with my son, and catch all of the PC, revisionist history, global warming garbage I also get to add on info that the class doesn't cover. Like, they mention Ben Franklin, but do not go into any detail whatsoever about what an incredible person he was.
Good luck to you, anything is better than public school!
Maybe it is time for a different approach. My favorite books on homeschooling were by Raymond Moore and Homeschooling for Excellence by David and Micki Colfax. I used Riggs for reading, Math U See for math and original sources for everything else, no textbooks. You can look at The Well Trained Mind for more resources
I think a lot of the "unsocialized" homeschool kids are the ones that are naturally very shy and would have been loners in public school too. The parents really need to put special effort no matter how those kids schooled.
Regardless, there's lots of groups and activities for homeschool kids. Not only do they have time with other kids in the homeschool co-op, they can try sports, martial arts, or dance, which gives them a chance to meet public school kids too. Libraries always have reading groups and activities (be wary of the ones that feature cross-dressers), there's volunteer stuff. There should be a choice of music groups too, through the homeschool group, a community orchestra/choir, and often the public school allows homeschool kids to join band/choir too.
Seriously, homeschool at all costs.Sending your kids to public school is abdicating their cognitive development to someone who doesn't share your values.
That look of shock. "They all said yes". No shit. People are being hysterical about the fucking flu. This has gone on long enough. We never acted like this during previous flu seasons...
Its been awhile since we've had a novel virus that spread quickly with no booster, no vaccine, known treatment, nada. Even swine flu had a variant that went through the populace decades ago. Very few people remember.
You know who remembers? The same people who are most affected. They remember polio, pneumonia(Bacterial pre-penicillin), and even the ghost of small pox. 10s of thousands if not hundreds of thousands dead yearly. Grandma got a nasty fever in 1958 and was gone. Sad but expected as life went on. They lull we enjoyed from the 80s to today is not normal. But rather the anomaly.
Now they are harping on lingering damage. Guess what, people hospitalized with flu have long term damage too. I have had friends get it and all have been fine, only one friend of a friend got blood clots and almost died, but he is going to live
I dunno. Those damned Uncle Toms can be pretty bad race traitors, and if they sympathize with whitey, they MUST be racists toward other persons of color.
The expression on that anchor's face is pure gold. These people live in an alternate universe. Zero understanding of what is going on in the real world. He clearly couldn't comprehend how anyone could disagree with him, especially the scientists who are supposedly on his side.
We were going to do public school this year but I’ve opted to not subject my kids to brainwashing regarding race, LGBTQ garbage, and being stuck in a prison-like system wearing a mask.
Oh man. The propagandists really wanted them to all say no. One thing you learn as a professional is to never ask a question you don’t already know the answer to.
I want them to open so they can watch the schools numbers drop by half. Watch the shreiking as they lay off the leftist teachers while the good teachers get hired by charter schools
It doesn't tell us the 100% is simply a calculated result from the number of positive divided by tests or the calculation is a mistake while the case numbers are correct. We don't really care about positive rate itself, but need to see the case numbers because it is a metric the media report to deceive people right now.
Lmaoooo this is gold. Trump needs to have REAL doctors on his platform all day everyday talking us the truth, no more puppet doctors and health agencies. NO MORE
My kids will both be home schooled, but through the school curriculum. They are going to require masks and social distancing and super cleaning at school, and I won't put my kids through that. Good news is the district is giving the option of full time remote learning, which then lets mom see the full curriculum too. The kids going back are going to have facial skin irritation, headaches, lower engagement, decreased social skills, and no immune system. Then we are going to get some new superbug because of all the sanitizing, which we won't be able to fight because we won't have been exposed to anything. Ugh! steps off soapbox
It is so obvious. Im glad that no cucks were among the doctors. Get ready for some blowback. Another group of "doctors" will be assembled, or maybe just a poll., that will wildly go the other way. They are so deceitful that at this point a expect it.
I'm amazed they didn't hire or bribe someone to act as a pediatrician and blatantly lie about the dangers of Covid to small children.
I'm thinking they were just expecting these doctors to parrot the talking points of the politicians and when they didn't they didn't have time to enforce plan B.
No one is being forced to send the kids to school. They can homeschool them. Older higher risk teachers can do the distance ed and younger and healthier classroom teaching. The problem will be talking taxpayers into building fancy and expensive buildings now.
I have an 18 month old and another kiddo on the way. We've moved to an area that is ranked in the top 10 for GA but I'm not sure what all that entails. Homeschooling would cost our family 100K per year so I really don't want to do that if I don't have to. Are my kids hosed or do top-ranked high schools actually any better?
Do you really need that second job? I'm assuming the 100k is the smaller of the two jobs. taxes on that extra 100k is 38% where I live, which leaves 62k left over.
The actual curriculum should be well under 5k. And the stay at home parent will do a MUCH better job teaching than the public school teachers.
I admit I'm a very biased towards being a stay at a home mom, but here's a few things to think about:
The truth is whether you pay for a good daycare or a nanny, followed by private school, your kids will be spending most of their waking hours, and do the majority of their learning, from someone else. You may find a jewel of a nanny with similar values, but there's no way to be sure of what values your kids are being taught.
It is being increasingly common to have books and sometimes special learning units for gay/transgender stuff in kindergarten. It may just be some books about 2 daddies, or Bob likes to wear a tutu that are slipped in with the rest of the books. There have been reports of "transgender reveal" events where some kid decides he's a girl now, and the class does a cute little talk about it, and the parents have no idea what their child is being told until they come home crying because they don't want to turn into the opposite gender.
There is still a big advantage in homeschooling the younger years because you can control the pace for their particular development. I have a friend who teaches daycare and pre-K. She says they're only in daycare until 3, then they have to start pre-K, which is essentially school to prep them for kindergarten. Kindergarten is no longer the half-day affair where you take naps and learn to get along. It's all day school, and they need to know their ABCs and numbers before going. She doesn't think pushing kids to be in school from age 3 is good for them, and can burn them out. Kids do develop at different rates - for instance, many boys develop literacy skills little bit later than girls. Giving them more time when they're very little instead of pressuring them to learn to read by a certain age won't put them behind. They'll learn much faster when they're developmentally ready and won't have a hopeless attitude about it that they get if they're pushed before they're ready. You can also move faster if they are ready early.
My 12 year old niece walked into her house the other day and was upset. She was talking to her mom and said something along the lines of "She called me a lesbian. I don't care that she disrespected me, but just at least it right!"
I asked her what "right" was and she said, "I'm pan!"
I just walked out the door because I don't want to have a fight with my brother. Fuck these people and what they are doing to our country's children. This is criminal and these people who devised this plot to destroy the youth of our country, and every complicit educator and academic deserve to be tried as traitors and hung for crimes against humanity.
I'd rather have my children declared mentally ill than have them attend public school in 2020.
Being that I work in public education, leave it. Never look back. Get into a home-school co-op where you can hire highly qualified teachers concerned with the education of the pupil and not the indoctrination of the pupil. (Side note: That NBC (NPC/NDNC) anchors face is PRICELESS at the end. “(pauses) They all said yes.” womp womp!

We are planning martial arts and music for our kids. They were so integral to me becoming who I am.
We're looking to move soon and making it work for home schooling is a priority for us.
I'd rather have less wealth and conservative kids than more wealth and leftist ones.
Seriously, homeschool at all costs.Sending your kids to public school is abdicating their cognitive development to someone who doesn't share your values.
And can't read, write or do basic math
You mean declared RACIST
Those two things are not mutually exclusive.
Pepe remembers
CDC says it has a 99.5% survival rate...
But facts don't matter anymore, it's all about who is loudest and screams the most.
Now they are harping on lingering damage. Guess what, people hospitalized with flu have long term damage too. I have had friends get it and all have been fine, only one friend of a friend got blood clots and almost died, but he is going to live
It's not the 'Rona that worries me. It's the Marxists.
I bet he was trying to figure out if they were being racist to him or not
Wow dude doesn't even try and hide his bias. I'm surprised they actually aired that.
His brain was burning up with cognitive dissonance. Plus I'm sure he wondered how that got aired.
It got aired because live TV is cheaper than recorded TV and MSNBC's big money sponsors are tired of propping up shows no one watches.
We were going to do public school this year but I’ve opted to not subject my kids to brainwashing regarding race, LGBTQ garbage, and being stuck in a prison-like system wearing a mask.
Oh shit, they all said yes.
Oh man. The propagandists really wanted them to all say no. One thing you learn as a professional is to never ask a question you don’t already know the answer to.
Please let that face become a meme
It's a genetically modified cold virus. Same family of virus.
The immune-compromised and the very old are, and always have been, those at risk for death from a cold virus.
Full. Stop.
Kids get the sniffles, every school year and then get herd immunity. Normal.
It is that normal that the globalists are trying to exploit... for political power.
We need the kids back in school. A quick way to herd immunity.
I want them to open so they can watch the schools numbers drop by half. Watch the shreiking as they lay off the leftist teachers while the good teachers get hired by charter schools
I had a really good laugh at that. Thanks!
It doesn't tell us the 100% is simply a calculated result from the number of positive divided by tests or the calculation is a mistake while the case numbers are correct. We don't really care about positive rate itself, but need to see the case numbers because it is a metric the media report to deceive people right now.
I love it when the cucks look said because reality doesnt match their fake news
Wants me to shut off my adblocker. No thanks.
Shut adblock ask window..scroll down to twitter link and will let you view
Lmaoooo this is gold. Trump needs to have REAL doctors on his platform all day everyday talking us the truth, no more puppet doctors and health agencies. NO MORE
He might cry on the air on election night. Seems like the type to do that when not getting his own way.
"they all said yes"
My kids will both be home schooled, but through the school curriculum. They are going to require masks and social distancing and super cleaning at school, and I won't put my kids through that. Good news is the district is giving the option of full time remote learning, which then lets mom see the full curriculum too. The kids going back are going to have facial skin irritation, headaches, lower engagement, decreased social skills, and no immune system. Then we are going to get some new superbug because of all the sanitizing, which we won't be able to fight because we won't have been exposed to anything. Ugh! steps off soapbox
Yeah, but at least one of those doctors was a racist because he displayed Kente Cloths on the wall behind him. /s
Fucking gold

It is so obvious. Im glad that no cucks were among the doctors. Get ready for some blowback. Another group of "doctors" will be assembled, or maybe just a poll., that will wildly go the other way. They are so deceitful that at this point a expect it.
Sending your kids to public school is child abuse!!! Prove me wrong.
My kids go to public school and it’s fine, but we live in a very red state. They don’t teach the garbage here like they do in liberal cities/states.
Yet!
I'm amazed they didn't hire or bribe someone to act as a pediatrician and blatantly lie about the dangers of Covid to small children.
I'm thinking they were just expecting these doctors to parrot the talking points of the politicians and when they didn't they didn't have time to enforce plan B.
Man i used to like this guy too, im from SC and i remember when Craig Melvin was our local anchor here. Times sure have changed.
No one is being forced to send the kids to school. They can homeschool them. Older higher risk teachers can do the distance ed and younger and healthier classroom teaching. The problem will be talking taxpayers into building fancy and expensive buildings now.
Man that ugly chick looks angry.
The face of a child can say it all.
In this face: "Me and my network have just publicly humiliated ourselves."
Pwned!
Won’t play

Too see what they say.
I don't know which is worse; they knowingly are telling lies, or they actually believe the BS they peddle.
Yeah, unfortunately we need it. Wife's healthcare is much better than mine and my salary alone won't keep us in black.
Damn. Not even Trident chewing gum got 100%.
That was pure fucking gold. K-Mac and the Pres. need to play this clip at the next briefing. Then highlight what a complete douche Newsome is.
