A 50 something-year-old Karen confronted several younger or older female shoppers but never once said a word to any male shopper or not wearing a mask. I was waiting for her to say something to me but she never did.
I’m in an extremely liberal area and have gone into Costco on a Saturday afternoon as the only one without a mask. There were probably 200+ people at the store and I was the only one. No one said shit to me. Got a lot of dirty looks, but you’re right, no one wants to confront a confident male about it.
Men need to start shutting these Karens down hard. Harassing a woman? Knuckle sandwich. Harassing the elderly? Knuckle sandwich. Harassing a grown as man? Fuck him he can take care of himself.
Even if it's a man, stand by him. Men may be "big and strong" and "not need help", but it's important to show solidarity in things like this -- because they believe they are the majority, that they are the mainstream, and conformity is human nature, so that will automatically draw people to their side.
Or just block his heel with yours, and push him down via shoulder or chest. Not as severe as a punch to the face, but sure to get the point across. Especially with some incidentals on the way down. The bigger they come, the harder they fall.

I had my mask around my neck because the store was empty and there was no one within a few aisles of me. But some fat fuck saw me from a distance and came over and started to record me.
What you do in this situation, is not act like a bitch. Instead you have to be assertive and firm, and politely(yet firmly) tell the person to put the camera away. Don't act like a bitch and whine. Flip the script and make the person with the camera seem like the irrational one acting like a bitch. If you act like a bitch, it will only embolden the person harrassing you, and make you seem weak to the eyes of the neutral bystanders, and will cause them to side with the recorder.
This is true. One time I got rear ended. I lived in the city at the time, so the police wouldn’t come to the scene of the accident unless there was an injury. The young lady that hit me was really stressed out, as it was completely her fault, so I was handling things to help her out. Some retard inserted himself claiming that I was lying the cops wouldn’t come, and started filming me while saying repeatedly, “you’re on Facebook live, asshole. Get ready to be the next viral douche bag.” I just said he was an idiot and suggested he call the police himself and he fucked off real quick. These people are just looking for a reaction. If you don’t give them one, their footage is boring and downright cringe.
You just ignore the camera and ignore the insane person.
They'll just have a video of them acting insane. Don't say a word. Ignore them like you would ignore a crazy person on the street. If they come near you, tell them to not come near you and they need to practice social distancing.
If the manager comes because of the rukus, tell them you can't wear a mask because you have a medical condition.
Most people seem terrified to interact with strangers outside of employees. I was playing the guitar downtown for a couple months. Lots of people complimented and tipped, but only a handful stood nearby to listen. Only one stared at me in close proximity while I was playing.
While traveling, I've sat down and watched a bunch of different musicians play through a few songs.
I was kind of bummed by their lack of enthusiasm. Maybe I just sucked, but the few moments with me sure seemed like it would be more interesting than whatever they probably had planned over the next hour.
My sister gets weirded out because I talk to strangers all the time. I'll talk to anyone about anything.
I also sat and listened to a busker in Paris play guitar for like an hour. I sat down near him against the wall, and just listened. After about 20 minutes, he looked over and said, "You like music?" I said yes, and he continued to play.
If someone did this to me I would legit punch them in the face and steal their camera... no point recording video when you can't upload it because you don't have a phone.
