Former atheist and pagan here.

I was an aimless wreck for a large part of my adolescence. That and the lack of a father made it worse. You fall down so many times and lose hope.

Christian now. Grew up and got back up fast.

One of my favourite atheists said "They say science offers no moral guidance, and thats true."

He did back that up with "But it offers a perspective from which even a single mayfly becomes a wonder.", however most of these obnoxious atheists you see today dont use any perspective.

Ironically if you use that perspective, you find yourself coming to the same conclusions as religion.
