The unemployment thing in my state was rigged as well IMO. I am self employed and other people in the same field as me were able to qualify as 'reduced earnings' or something like that and get weekly payments. I was denied and the only appeal option was to call them. I call over the course of several days. I called right when they opened. I would never get through and the message would just say to call again later with no other options. There was no way to be placed on hold. There was no way to request a call. I sent an email and did not receive a response. I attempted to file again and was denied again. No way to contact them to resolve. I have been able to do business enough to pay my bills, but I know some people who are running out of money without the savings that I have.

A business failure apocalypse is coming and those who lose everything ,decades and generations worth of work are not going to rebuild again in California...Once property values rent start to go down it's going to become cascade failure and a complete Shit show of capital loss chaos... California cannot withstand even the suggestion of a deflationary spiral of doom..

Two of my husband’s staff just got their unemployment payments last week. They applied in early March. It’s insane.
Luckily his dental office is up and running again. He gave his staff a $$$ gift every month they were out. He wanted to make sure they were ok. It was all done under my name to avoid any issues.
He’s sending them all to Tahoe for a week in September. Rented a friends huge cabin for them. His staff is amazing, love those ladies. Couldn’t do it without them. Even though most of them are liberals lol! They have an excellent work ethic, perhaps they are closeted MAGA ladies?
NJ government sucks but the ONLY dept that has ever been efficient and organized is the Unemployment dept. Was unemployed 2x (once in South Jersey and once in Central Jersey) and was able to fight my boss's denials of unemployment and win both times! (Never work for lawyers)
I was always able to call and get answers to my questions right away. Checks always on time in my direct deposit. Even their job training was great!
