I never play f2p, p2w games. It should take you a few days to notice it. If you can only do micro transactions for skins and other stricktly cosmetic items, its cool. But once you can buy better body armor or weapons with real cash while free players have basically no access to them, fuck it its a complete waste of time unless youre willing to spend $1000s just to rent pixles to be competative.
I just don't understand the pricing scheme for these games. I have messed with a few but even if you put down good money on these games (say $25 which is plenty for a simple low graphics game) it generally doesn't get you that far ahead.
Star Wars heroes is a great example. $25 gives you maybe a weeks worth of materials. It's just insane. Why are people spending that money?
Very few are and are actually willing, but that’s who these games target. Freemium or not, if they wanted money from the entire playerbase they’d price things like candy. As in super cheap so you regularly spend some money rather than $10 on a skin every once in a while.
That's what I would expect, although based on the current price model, I predict that's not how it is, people are willing to pay big money for dumb shit. I see mobile games with $99 packages pop up and I ask myself "who on earth would ever spend $100 on a fkn mobile game shitty pack to get marginally ahead" well, obviously people buy that crap if it exists.
Evidently, for their pricing model to be as it is, more than enough are willing to spend $10 on a skin that they would not get >10x more business by making it $1
If they could make more by selling them cheaper, they would choose to make more. Idiots are willing to buy that crap for big money apparently
