As developer of maga.host, I'd like to provide the below in the interest of transparency of how your data is handled and transmitted while using the service.

maga.host now respects the Do Not Track header and removes any requests to servers not under the maga.host domain when the header is set

When the Do Not Track header is unset, requests are made to sentry.io to provide error reporting and shields.io to provide a dynamic SVG at the bottom of the page. All error reporting is done as anonymously as possible. This error reporting has already helped me identify and solve numerous bugs in the couple of weeks it's been in place.

Edit: To clarify: No external resources are loaded by the browser other than sentry.io and shields.io. As many resources as possible are re-hosted by the maga.host server so no outside CDN can track you.

Even when there is no Do Not Track header, your privacy is the top priority. There are no resources included in the webpage that intend to track you, like Google Analytics.

maga.host is now available via a Tor hidden service: http://maga.host.vanwanetglaj3lze.onion (Please note that you will need JS enabled for the time being, however I am working on a nojs.maga.host which will not require JS, as the name suggests, so stay tuned for that)

maga.host no longer uses the Cloudflare proxy. I have worked with a CDN and DNS provider, https://vanwanet.com , that respects free speech to provide access for maga.host, so you don't need to worry about it being cancelled and losing all your images.

I have flipped the switch for larger uploads, so you can now upload images, videos, and files up to 200MB!

All of this is in addition to previous features:

  • Video AND audio sharing
  • Full quality (we don't compress or try to limit your image quality, it is uploaded as-is after EXIF data has been stripped)
  • CSAM scanning
  • Image galleries
  • A responsive mobile UI
