the thing you have to realize is that Democrats never use science. often times the science agrees with Republicans. Even on things like climate change coronavirus etc. what you're seeing is Democrats lying about with the science says. often times climate studies reveal much less climate alarmism than the Democrats want to admit. They simply lie about what the study said..

the same with that. it's not a good look to simply deny science but you can prove the Democrats lied about it. The science doesn't back up shutting down the state. flight? Because there's multiple studies showing everything from the coronavirus not being nearly as dangerous as Democrats originally claimed and also showing that the lockdowns had no effect and also showing that the lockdowns hurt more people than I helped. The science does not support lockdowns. And it's important to call them out on that because they lie about the science in order to push their radical left-wing agenda..

16
Polygauge 16 points ago +17 / -1

Yep, lockdowns fly directly in the face of how immunology works. Pretty sure I had the Rona back in February along with some buddies and we were all down and out for a couple days, but after it was like, "yo, bro, I'm ready to climb mountains again". It's new, sure, but everything is new at some point.

The way the MSM hypes this virus I think everyone forgets we have an immune system.

2
hjsjdvd 2 points ago +2 / -0

there's also several studies that say there is six. had a bigger negative effect than positive effect. other studies showing that it was an overreaction to begin with and the UN even released to study saying that tens of millions of people would starve due to the lockdowns..

It’s a classic Alinsky projection tactic, accuse your opponent of doing something that you’re doing in order to hide your behavior.

A good chunk of liberals are language arts majors, which are degrees that require zero math or science classes to obtain. And yet, they want to lecture on “science” despite not even having a fundamental knowledge in a particular field of science. Ask any liberal to integrate x^2, and where you might use an integral and they’ll just make a snide remark or stare you dumbfounded.

1
HockeyMom4Trump 1 point ago +1 / -0

I haven’t gone to Menards since the mask mandate. Had a ton I would have bought there, but went to Home Depot instead.

Any store with mandatory mask policies are on my list of places I avoid. If they all go mask mandatory, I will only go online.

2

Add Kroger to that list then. But yeah it's shitty, especially how Menards is selling 10 cent masks for a dollar and claiming it's not for profit... Bull shit.

I dont have kids so dont know how bad they are personally, I think its just the fact that they will keep everything shut down forever if nobody said anything, time to get back to normal and open schools are part of that. How I see it anyway.

13
Erikabodereka 13 points ago +13 / -0

Yes. I believe this is why democrats want schools closed. If schools are open then parents can focus on work or getting back to work. Life returns to normal. Economy does well. Everyone is happy except the globalists (but are they ever happy).

2
newuser999 2 points ago +2 / -0

Do teachers get paid if the schools are shutdown and they don't teach at all?

1
lanre 1 point ago +1 / -0

So long as we don't fire them, yeah. But we should push to keep schools shut down, and furlough the teachers.

Hospitals are furloughing tons of nurses or cutting their hours because they're unnecessary right now, but could be needed in the future if business picks back up.

1

I'm a teacher and I'm going to disagree with you there. Digital learning can be a thing we are planning for it right now.

10
Overkillengine 10 points ago +10 / -0
  1. Lefties are willing to sacrifice a year or so of the indoctrination camp if it means enabling them to steal an election.

  2. If it is safe enough to send a child to school in person, it becomes hard to persuasively argue that it is not safe enough for an adult to VOTE in person.

The entire fear mongering by Branch Covidians has one purpose: to try to gaslight the nation into accepting mass mail in ballots which is trivially easy to subvert compared to in person voting and tallying.

-6
deleted -6 points ago +2 / -8
5
ModernKnight 5 points ago +5 / -0

It's a matter of ease. It's extremely easy to tamper with mail-in ballots, either by intercepting large numbers of mail-in ballots going out to voters, or votes coming back in. It isn't just Dems, there was at least one instance of a postal worker disposing of a batch of mail-in ballots from a heavily Democrat area, the Dems just make heavy use of it.

4
Overkillengine 4 points ago +4 / -0

Nice strawmen, you build them yourself? Or did you buy them with some shiny new Sorosbucks at Home Depot?

  1. At no point did I make the claim that it was a Democrat only issue. Your assumption of that reveals an implicit bias on your part, not mine. But historically incumbents have a higher odds of winning reelection in this country, so the opposition party automatically has greater incentive to win by any means necessary. And no, I would not have accepted mass mail in voting if the candidate parties were swapped either, so stuff that assumption in your back hole too.

  2. At no point did I claim any of the things you brought up can't be tampered with either. But mail in ballots are easier to tamper with for the simple fact that they are preassigned to an individual in advance, and an inherently unreliable chain of custody! If they have issued to you YOUR ballot, and know your voting patterns, and you mail it back, you have no way to verify your vote was actually counted because you trusted an entire chain of unobserved third parties to handle and deliver it in good faith much less the people doing the tallying...guess what? You just handed them a gift box labeled: Please "lose" my ballot if it is politically convenient to do so. And if you think that they do not know your party affiliation and probable voting inclinations, (look no farther than what happened to a lot of Bernie Bros in the 2016 primaries - much registration fuckery was afoot) you are either a fool or entirely off grid and practically a ghost. And based the fact that you posted here, you probably have some sort of social media, so the latter assumption is probably false. The establishment has had decades to collect all sorts of metadata on all of us, and the sad part is a large number of us naively volunteered it.

-2

Overkillengine 1 point ago +1 / -0
  1. If you are responding to me, then do me the courtesy of responding to my claims, instead of inserting things from elsewhere and arguing against those, which is disingenuous at best. Otherwise I will return the lack of courtesy...maybe not in the same form, but it will be returned.

  2. Ballot machines are not tamper-proof, and nothing that I have said should be assumed to be asserting such. What I am observing is that mail in ballots are EASIER to tamper with due to the factors I have already noted, and which are not the same factors that an site voting with a machine has.

You certainly might be able to fuck with the machine, but the machine itself serves as evidence of such, and the voting machines are subject to chain of custody rules. Plus tampering with the machine to get a specific result comes with a presumption of intent if you get caught. Which makes getting away with ballot machine fraud that much harder. Plus since all the ballots generated are already on site, they can be immediately counted by hand (with multiple observers!) if fuckery with the machine is suspected.

With mail in ballots, your ballot can be lost at any point in the mail before the tally, and the people committing that act can just claim varying degrees of no intent or incompetence to avoid actual punishment for doing so, assuming you have any reliable way at all to catch them doing it, which you do not. Note that incompetence or lack of intent are not actual legal grounds to avoiding being punished for a crime like felonious ballot interference, but recent history is rife with government agencies like the DoJ declining to prosecute prominent political figures based on such specious claims.

So the sane logical conclusion is to give assholes as few chances to forget to count/miscount a ballot by ensuring that the ballots are never out of observation by multiple parties that are held directly accountable for them. The postal system does not and never has given that level of security.

-1
deleted -1 points ago +1 / -2
3
NuclearDreams 3 points ago +3 / -0

So because Democrats and republicans could both cheat using the same method we should keep it around? Also a lot of states still use paper ballots and hand counting and also polls have volunteers who watch the process the entire way through. This can't eliminate fraud but it can reduce it.

With mail in voting there is no accountability. The best you can hope for is to look up your vote on a website months later and if it's not there well too late, the election is already over. Plus you can fake a mail in ballot far more easily than you can fake an in-person ballot.

1
grapenuts 1 point ago +1 / -0

its the old trueism that when it is easy to cheat and the risk of getting caught is low, people will cheat. Mail in voting has endless and practically untraceable ways it can be manipulated, therefor it WILL happen. Human nature.

1
lanre 1 point ago +1 / -0

Voting machines are another abomination that allow one person to fraudulently change multiple votes without a paper trail. And they've been proven over and over again to be full of security holes. I don't understand why we accept them when it's just as easy for the user to vote on a paper ballot.

Mail-in ballots provide the appearance of legitimacy, but there's not election observers from both sides providing a full chain of custody from when the ballot was delivered to when it was returned, so anyone along the way could forge the documents and no one would know. They can also destroy ballots being sent to areas that lean heavily for the opposing party and disenfranchise those voters. Of course this can be exploited by either side.

At least with paper ballots you can maybe find them dumped or burnt in a landfill sometimes, and in theory you would have election observers from all sides present to ensure the chain of custody is preserved and that ballots aren't changed.

3
NuclearDreams 3 points ago +3 / -0

I agree we need huge, sweeping changes to out education system. But keeping the schools closed is another way of government perpetuating the fear daily, which leads to more insanity. It's time we got back to the normal way of doing things, yes public school included.

Also they are still taxing us for schools so they need to either open them back up or refund that money back to everyone.

11

Then demand your governor return any taxes collected to run those closed schools.

If the schools aren't open, then they don't need the money.

6
chambleepede 6 points ago +6 / -0

I mean, this is just about to the point where a document should be written in calligraphy on parchment stating... "You cannot forcibly take money for us and not provide the service... therefore we want the money back and we will provide it on our own.

1
Overkillengine 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yup, and it's especially infuriating as a person without kids since I am being taxed for a service that I do not currently consume.

I am only barely willing to tolerate it when it is actually provided because children that get an education are somewhat less likely to become welfare recipients and thus avoid becoming a larger tax burden on me in the future, not to mention the correlated reduction in criminal behavior as well.

But now I am being taxed for it and it's not even being provided well enough for me to have the long term expectation of benefits I had before.

2
chambleepede 2 points ago +2 / -0

I always wonder what science they are looking at, because science is pretty conclusive that it doesn't impact kids worse than any other common cold we have had since humans existed. Let kids go back without masks and without social distancing requirements. If people are scared you still have the remote & home school options - don't force others to go along with your paranoia.

6
hollow_fang 6 points ago +6 / -0

What science does say, is that isolating kids for extended periods of time, exasperated by the closing of schools, can seriously fuck them up mentally, if it hasn’t done so already. Forcing them to wear masks and social distances at school won’t be much better.

Christ I would be traumatized by all this if I were a kid.

It’s shit like this that makes me lose all hope.

12
LadyOfLorien 12 points ago +12 / -0

This is a good thing. The public school system is corrupt and needs to be uprooted.

Join a homeschool co-op. Find an umbrella group. Seize the means of education.

4
Basileus 4 points ago +4 / -0

Eventually perhaps, but in the interim it has the downstream consequence of preventing offices from opening back up because the parents need to stay home with their underage kids while "working." Let us not forget that in addition to indoctrination centers, schools double as babysitting services

7
LadyOfLorien 7 points ago +8 / -1

Which is half the problem right there. Schools are and should only ever be for education. Not free babysitting. Not free food. Not free social services.

My family sacrifices so that I can stay home and raise our children. It is a grave injustice to also expect us to subsidize those who choose to work.

If the only way for people to get their heads out of their asses is to lose their jobs or have to pay for a nanny, well, some lessons hurt.

2
Basileus 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's a much bigger problem, both in terms of economic reality and tax philosophy, and it's unrealistic to expect it to be fixed in a couple of months. It simply affects too many people.

3
Homopratensis2 3 points ago +3 / -0

"Too many people"

I've always homeschooled my children. It is not that difficult. My wife stays at home.

All the adjustments needed to make homeschooling happen can occur in two weeks (about how long media mail takes to ship some textbooks and how much notice wifey should give to quit her job).

The issue is the pervasive belief that double income is necessary.

Nearly always double income is in fact to feed the consumerist pig.

2
Basileus 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm glad it worked out for you, but expecting this to fit the bill for most Americans seems a bit out of touch and in any event would be a losing issue, at least for the time being. The "consumerist pig" is not only what people spend discretionary money on, but also to a large extent how people make their money.

There would need to be not only a cultural shift, but also an economic one, and that will take time. Double income has caused inflation, and over time prices will adjust if we return to one-income households. And plans will be made for single-parent homesteads (perhaps, economic incentives will lead to more families staying together or forming in the first place). Otherwise society will not be able to absorb the changes and there will be even more violence and chaos.

Noble goals to work towards, but not something you can flip a switch on.

0
Homopratensis2 0 points ago +2 / -2

You have to start somewhere.

The problem is most people are in the end cowardly and effeminate.

Homescooling is the easiest thing to start with, but it is not as easy as sending kiddos to skool.

First goodness sake must people had an adhoc trial run of homeschooling already. There was no catastrophe that I am aware of.

Stop making excuses and just just do it.

1
LadyOfLorien 1 point ago +2 / -1

I don't expect it to be fixed in a couple of months. But I believe it won't be fixed at all unless it becomes a crisis. People are too comfortable with the status quo.

1
Basileus 1 point ago +2 / -1

Agreed

4
Homopratensis2 4 points ago +4 / -0

You got two months to get ready. Teaching kids under 12 is within almost anybody's ability.

And with everybody "working" from home this is easier than ever.

People just need to develop a little courage.

4
Polygauge 4 points ago +5 / -1

Yep, I've been talking to my gf about this as she just recently graduated to be a teacher. So we're looking into running a local community thing on a field maybe once or twice a week for a few hours and kind of mix outdoor games with teaching the kids the things they should know while enjoying themselves.

2
lanre 2 points ago +2 / -0

Honestly, it might be a good thing for one of the two parents to quit their job at the moment (or just adapt to losing their job) and raise their kids. Have you done the math on the additional income of a second parent working vs the added expenses of babysitting, eating out, etc.? I did awhile back and realized that it made both economic sense, and practical sense in terms of having parents raise their children instead of strangers to have one parent working and one raising the kids. There's also a lot of other benefits you can't easily quantify, but do exist, such as the remaining parent with a job working better because they now also have all kinds of support.

7
justforthissubred 7 points ago +7 / -0

This is literally true. My friend works on the hill and said that democrats are openly discussing how to keep things closed, and are gleeful about it.

Like this science?

Iceland's deCODE genetics and colleagues from Iceland’s Directorate of Health and the National University Hospital published a study of thousands of their citizens. One of the scientist authors of the study had this to say, "Children under 10 are less likely to get infected than adults and if they get infected, they are less likely to get seriously ill. What is interesting is that even if children do get infected, they are less likely to transmit the disease to others than adults. We have not found a single instance of a child infecting parents," Kari Stefansson M.D., Ph.D. Not a single case in which a child got an adult sick. A link to the study in case you want to read more, https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2006100?query=featured_home. The source of the scientist's quote, https://www.sciencemuseumgroup.org.uk/hunting-down-covid-19/.

It's not limited to Iceland though, from Canada "Contrary to what we thought, in relation to influenza — that they [children] become very large transmitters of the disease in the population — this does not necessarily seem to be the case," said Quebec's chief medical officer, Dr. Horacio Arruda. From Australia, public health officials in the state of New South Wales traced hundreds of close contacts related to the 18 coronavirus cases at 15 schools (nine teachers and nine students) between early March and the end of term in mid-April. Researchers at NCIRS, a government agency, found among the almost 900 close contacts, only two had contracted the disease. Of note, Australia kept their schools open during the spread of the disease. The Australian study, http://ncirs.org.au/sites/default/files/2020-04/NCIRS%20NSW%20Schools%20COVID_Summary_FINAL%20public_26%20April%202020.pdf

4
Deadangles 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'd wager mosy of the people who harp on "LISTEN TO THE SCIENCE AND SCIENTISTS" are people who couldn't get a grade above C in high school science, never went to college or did go to college and didnt take science-heavy courses (not a slight against people who dont go to college, a slight against these specific people)

Ofcourse there's outliers of actual scientiests who work for government agencies but they tend to be biased.

And i know for a fact there's people i described in my first paragraph cuz i see them in my commiebook feed and went to highschool with them. None of them were good students and especially not in science classes lmao

Haha true. I have a friend who went to college & grad school for music and tells me (BS in a STEM field) to educate myself. The "educate yourself/get educated" crowd gets a hard eye roll from me.

But i gotta remember I'man uneducated white college graduate who voted for trump

Honestly, my college experience gave me nothing I couldn't have learned on my own, and in retroapect, the majority of things I learned were from just teaching them to myself and little to none was actually from college.

You think they would considering all the hours these kids are spending not getting brainwashed.

The science shows kids don't spread the virus.

Your governor is an idiot.

Just start home schooling and don’t forget to vote!

3
Homopratensis2 3 points ago +3 / -0

So homeschool. Many problems solved including the fact you've removed your child from government indoctrination centers.

first_amendment 3 points ago +3 / -0

Smart parents will home school. Moms will realize that their kids need their dad in their lives more than ever.

NC, pooper Cooper

Didn't he say NC schools will open in August?

1
AlphaNathan [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Technically "open," there will be a mix of remote learning and in-person learning.

CannonballJunior 1 point ago +1 / -0

Can't see that link. Aren't all school systems in the state free to choose physical reopening on Aug 17th? That was my understanding anyway. I'm sure there will be at least a couple of thoroughly cucked school systems that will choose not to reopen, but probably 90+% will.

the union of teachers in los angeles county wrote a 'report'

and the first grievance on a list of about five things. was 'defund the police'

number 3 or 4 was a 'moratorium on charter schools'...

lol. WTF does that have to do with education, covid or students health?

omfg. way to be so fucking obvious.

Long term mental issues for young children be damned I guess.

Know a few parents with kids around 3 to 9. One with a 4-year-old and a 9-year-old. They are reporting massive character shifts in them and not the good kind. Angry. Worried. Not seeing their school friends physically so they can play with them and a number of other issues. Something as simple as not sleeping properly.

Thats not even talking about older children. Parents out of work having to feed their kids. Not being able to give them any type of education.

People may think keeping them out of schools is good because socialist infect the education system.

But there is more kids going without any education at all than there are parents giving children home education.

None of this is good at all.

The Left in March: "Everyone needs to wear a mask, social distance and quarantine and the country must shut down to 'stop the spread.' Science says this will work."

May: Cases down. Hospitalizations down. Virus weakened. Country starts to open.

The Left in July: "Masks, social distancing and quarantine didn't work the first time so we're going to force them again, along with shutting down the country to 'stop the spread.' Science says this will work...this time. Experts estimate we'll see a full recovery sometime around November 4th. Please stay tuned for more phony numbers and reports until then to reinforce our 'science.'"

1
lifeisahologram 1 point ago +1 / -0

Every governor claims they are basing stuff on “the science” but if that’s the case why do all the states have differing and often out right contradictory policies?

“Oh you can stay at hotels here and not get corona virus, but if you stay at a hotel in this state you can get corona, so we closed hotels, except in this county you can stay, but only if you wear a mask. And in this place you can sit down at restaurants to eat and not get it, but in this state you can’t so we banned public seating, oh and these restaurant policies are flipped to our hotel policies. Because corona virus infects in private hotel rooms but not in public mass gatherings in a food establishment with everyone breathing the same air and expelling germs. Ya know....SCIENCE!”

Shame. Now how are we supposed to teach our kids that gender is a spectrum and that white people bad?

1
IntersectionalXhe 1 point ago +1 / -0

It would be one thing if literally every other country wasn’t sending their kids back but they are and we are going to screw ours over by ruining another year of their education. It’s one thing to hold Graduate Classes online, or give the option for College classes. Kids need the socialization, they need the structure. We could destroy our future with this bullshit.

South_Florida_Guy 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'd like to see any of these retards claiming "muh science" about anything take a rudimentary high school or even middle school science test. I bet they'd fail miserably.

1
WeCanMaga 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's hilarious because I just watched the MSNBC interview with the leading pediatricians of the US and they all said they are not afraid and they have no doubts that they want their children back at school. Something about looking at the scientific studies that show that children aren't dying from the virus.

Someone should tell the left:

  1. Science only has theories
  2. The "Truth" changes every few years, or faster
  3. Scientists are not infallible, because they're human

The leftist nut job religion is absurd. They insist everything they want to happen is unquestionably the will of their god they've named "Science". Empirical evidence, and the discernible force and order of the universe be damned. If they canonize a single piece of garbage into their "academic literature", and have one of their ministers misinterpret that to say something it doesn't, all that oppose the will of "Science" must be "racist".

The complete absence of stories about dead kids is all the proof I need to know that this pandemic was a sham. The media would never let trump get away if kids were dying left and right.

1
Americanism 1 point ago +1 / -0

People use the term Science to describe things they don't know about. A scientist in the field would provide much more detail. They cannot have this because the actual numbers and math involved would queue everyone into the reality.

1
MAGA_MEXICAN_CHILI 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm just going to put this here.

I made a point about standards for journalists.

Its about time Science gets slapped with standards as well.

Politiking Science is by far disingenuous if not dangerous.

1
PeacefulWarrior 1 point ago +1 / -0

What if Trump is pushing hard to get kids back in school only because the left will do the exact opposite. Meaning, he really wants to keep kids out of school and at home.

1
spicy_deluxe 1 point ago +1 / -0

Public schools are just going to indoctrinate your children into communism and anti-white propaganda. They should be shut down permanently and it has nothing to do with the virus.
