Its so bizarre that people are panicked into acting like this is Ebola or bubonic plague.

In anyone under 70, its literally less dangerous than seasonal flu.

Well, truth is 50 and up is pretty risky IF you have comorbidity factors- then 70+ spikes much higher for serious illness and what seems almost a guaranteed death if comorbidities.

But if you are 50-69 and not diabetic, high blood pressure, heart condition, grossly obese, COPD or other severe breathing issues, and not already immuno-compromised... probably be fine with a little proactive care.

I'm 60, a bit chubby lately and not getting much exercise- but getting sun and nutritional boosts since February- with zero comorbidties or even potentially at risk to get them.

So when my daughter's first responder family in a high early cases zone desperately needed child watching help for a week in early March.... I agreed without hesitation.

Ran ragged while there, 2 active littles and mountains of household tasks needing doing plus 4 flights of stairs up and down lol, and then drove hours back home in dire need of a good night's sleep.

I felt a little bleh and stiff next day and for a couple more, mildly feverish, wondered if I'd got dehydrated from their central heat, slept too much and had a headache and very minor cough. Then was fine.

And turns out about 5 days after I left first the stressed out exhausted adults then at home 24/7 kids got terribly sick with fever and bad coughs, up to visiting the emergency room with a very high fever for 5 days for middle grandchild.

Yep, they got tested after that week due to first responder job and + then cleared. Daughter was horrified and afraid to tell me I was probably exposed, then shocked I had extremely mild symptoms only. But I've been making sure to get direct sunlight regularly vs hide in the house, slamming the zinc and Vit C since mid Feb, and used my stash of tonic water that week back home.

Take care of yourself, honestly assess your risk factors, and otherwise carry on with life while limiting your contacts to those WITH risk factors.
