Social media overall has been a net negative to society.

Other than being able to easily invite people to events and share photos of your kids/pets, it brings out the absolute worst in humanity.

I would not even consider those positives. The first one makes it even easier to scam people, and the second has fueled a the massive and growing pedo problem in the world today.
