Sure. Married people with kids can claim their children as dependents. Why should straight married couples without children have tax breaks under your logic? The ones who are child free and get abortions?
They shouldn’t. In a perfect system, they have kids then get the tax break. But giving a tax break to straight married couples produces a more likely scenario where that couple decides have children. Those offspring are the most desirable for a society.

You know that there’s a joint filing tax break, and a whole other tax break for dependents, right?
Yes I know. But I think the tax break should only be for dependents. Joint filers already save money by pooling finances together for living costs.
