Even in straight marriages, you can't guarantee that "god will be first". There are many "godless" marriages, so why dictate that gay people shouldn't get legally married if straight marriages are full of greed, infidelity, child and spousal abuse, divorce, abortions? It was not homosexuality that caused so many straight marriages to be such failures.
Also, muslims believe as fervently in their god, as you do yours. Doesn't mean you or they are correct, just because you believe strongly. You can see what a failure muslim countries are when they include religion in their law making. This is why the country should be secular. Individual people can be driven by religion. But not laws.
God's Word is very clear on the subject. One Man and One Woman together in union under God.
I believe that the reason there is so much divorce is because God is not "FIRST". He is to be first above all things spouse, kids, family, society, and one's self. That is not easy, but it is necessary for a marriage to work. There is rules for the husband and for the wife as well.
I think you missed what I said.
As for you second sentence. Our country right now IS secular. You are seeing it being played out in real time. Our country has tried over the last 30-40 years to get rid of God in all areas of society. That includes the church. This is a result.
Yes, I believe in personal responsibility. I believe everyone should be responsible for their actions not because they fear God, but because they want to live in a better world, and the best way to change it for the better is to change yourself, work hard on yourself.
I am agnostic about God, I believe he likely exists, but whether or not the church is right about their teachings is unclear. You can see how easy it is today, even with all of the information available, to trick people into believing something is right or wrong. You can see how easily people believe propaganda.
With that experience of human psychology, I believe it would be very easy over the course of hundreds of years for priests and the catholic/christian church to manipulate the religion into something that keeps them in power, not something that spreads the truth. I do not believe the christian religion would have prevented the leftist movement, as evident of all the pedophiles who work in the church, and all of the christian churches that support movements like BLM.
There is only one source that is the Bible which contains God's Holy Word. Church is to be a gathering of brothers and sisters in Christ. Christian is derived by those that are to be Christ-like.
Catholic/Protestant or whatever label is being used doesn't matter to me. God's Word is the beginning and end of it.
Revelations is a good point to start at when dealing with these times now.
Jesus said it in the book of Matthew Chapter 13 in his parables to the crowds.
We are to act like Christ therefore we should study His character.
Working hard on yourself while continually praying, studying, and living God's Word is the best way in my opinion. I am starting to understand Matthew 7 far more lately.

Sure, but you only know it's the word of god because other humans told you it was.
