You know that there’s a joint filing tax break, and a whole other tax break for dependents, right?

Yes I know. But I think the tax break should only be for dependents. Joint filers already save money by pooling finances together for living costs.

Perhaps. Still not a good reason to block gay marriage, if straight people get the benefit for being childless.

That’s why I said ideally, there shouldn’t be a tax break straight or not unless that marriage produces children.

I suppose. In an ideal world, nobody would divorce, assault, steal or kill. Doesn’t mean much.
