As someone else mentioned, they probably also shorted on twitter stocks. If you are going to successfully hack Twitter, you know in advance that the hack is going to cause a huge drop in stock price as invested confidence takes a hit.

I can’t imagine they’re getting too much money. Who the hell on Twitter is going to send bitcoin to some random address posted obviously by a hacker?
