I would go into it w a positive attitude, it will help you be creative in searching for answers.
All the while you can be thinking ab how you may handle 5-6 months of darkness.
I know a woman who taught Natives up there each Summer. She had far more trouble w 5-6 months of Sun! Had to figure out how to sleep! Her Students ended up lining the interior of her windows with Aluminum foil !
Lots to consider, but you will be well off $$$wise, so this increases your options.

I was only there once in 1992. I absolutely loved it! It is not cold due to being on the coast. Very friendly people and lot’s of fishing, hunting, hiking. The state will all pay your expenses to get your Private Pilot’s license. As far as single gal, that may be a problem. Way more men than women. As far as a car, you may get by without one. Good luck!
