I betcha Chamber of Commerce (not National, local) would help...online resources. Maybe some websites even have info ab demographics, night life, etc. Also, info online from Anchorage would be helpful. follow links, and maybe you can get some questions answered. Also, specifics in search engine, such as (Anchorage) Bars, churches, restaurants, population distribution and so forth.

I would go into it w a positive attitude, it will help you be creative in searching for answers. All the while you can be thinking ab how you may handle 5-6 months of darkness. I know a woman who taught Natives up there each Summer. She had far more trouble w 5-6 months of Sun! Had to figure out how to sleep! Her Students ended up lining the interior of her windows with Aluminum foil ! Lots to consider, but you will be well off $$$wise, so this increases your options. God bless you as you search and learn.
