I think this will happen, the mods for sure will be working on it.

I hope it does but I also hope they keep things more controlled here and not just let any random pleb start their own sub.

Agreed, not sure the reason behind it. Only thing I can think of, is so that if one site is getting cancel cultured, the other sites are not affected.

Too easy to deplatform one large site. Even easier to false-flag, post some mass shooting threat and then scream LOOK LOOK THEY'RE VIOLENT WHITE SUPREMACIST NAZIS on Twitter or to the FBI.

Instead, the sites should incorporate an old Geocities Webring-type solution, with a button always accessible that triggers a dropdown menu or page with a list of all .win sites and a search bar where you can search by name or tags. Communities.win already has a full list so it should not be hard to implement.
