I've been saying this for years. I'm not racist.... I just don't like dealing with trashy people. There are trashy whites, blacks, Hispanics and every other race. If you keep yourself cleaned up and speak like a normal human, we are good.
Same rule applies to my neighbors! We worked hard to save and move into a decent subdivision, and lately some neighbors have been renting out their houses instead of selling when they move out. We can always spot those neighbors, and there's a family on my street. There's no pride of ownership. The weeds overtake the grass, which rarely gets cut, there's a shutter that's been missing for 2 years now, etc. It's so trashed up. These people happen to be the only black family on the street. That's not the part I care about, I just want them to take care of their house so it doesn't drag MY property value into the toilet!
Yes, every race has its trash. The problem is the segment that the media elevates to celebrity status. For black media, a lot of it is hip hop and thug life. People would raise holy hell if the music and movies predominantly for whites started featuring meth heads living in trailers on welfare.
I grew up in a pretty poor white-trashy area. I wanted nothing more than to get out and get something better. 20 years later I've achieved that goal. I'm not trying to deal with bs I dealt with 20 years ago.
