I'm sure we all do. If a private business wants their patrons to wear masks it's okay because i can take my business elsewhere. But if there is a state mandate I don't have that option.

And if every business mandates it? Corporations have been working together to do this shit for awhile.

I don’t think it’s so simple as the “muh private business” trope

One, that's illegal market manipulation and two -- someone will always offer another choice, and likely will market share.

It's the American way

The mask order is the Communist way.

Commies are winning currently. Need the Federal Government to put an end to this.

We have already seen examples on T_D of other states' businesses going against their respective orders. Using an extremist example that doesn't reflect reality is disingenuous.

A private business has the right to refuse for any reason and I won't be taking that away. Just as I have the right to shop somewhere else, a mask wearer has the right to stay at home if they feel unsafe.

Regardless, I can see Ivey shutting down the economy again and fining/throwing people in jail if she's unhappy with our response.

This might only be an issue if you're talking about regulated monopolies, specifically, utility companies. If you can only get natural gas, for example from one private company that has the monopoly on gas service to your area, and they mandate masks if you have to go to their facility to pay your bill, for example, you might have an issue.

Even then, though, that's pretty specious, since you can mail a check, pay online, and in many areas, make your payment at a grocery store courtesy booth.

If you're trying to buy most anything else, though.....say you're trying to buy a pair of jeans, or a bottle of booze. Chances are, you'll be able to find a retailer of each that will let you shop and buy without a mask, even if Macys, Gap, and other large retailers want you to wear a mask.

I agree 100%. Kay Ivey is weak and a pathetic leader who tries to play both sides and ends up pissing everyone off. Assuming she isn't a paid hack, she probably caved to the pressure by Fauci, Birx (who visited her Wednesday), Jefferson County (corrupt to the core), and other states talking about how backwards AL is and that AL is a "hot spot."

Kay said back in March that we aren't California, we aren't New York. We dont need shelter in place and mask mandates... Well so much for that. Damned RINO.

Seeing as how Kay Ivey loves her taxes, I’d say she’s pretty well paid for.

Im still pissed over her gas tax. I never thought I voted a democrat into office.

Just another elderly career politician too comfortable with their secure position of power.

I campaigned and screamed until i was blue in the face to elect Tommy Battle for govenor. No we had to elect "maw maw" who is a closet dyke. We could have had a mayor of one of the most successful cities. Instead we got a career alabama swamp monster. It still disgust me thinkinf about all the idiots calling in to Leeland fawning over her until that gas tax.

Kay Ivey is an idiot and a drunk. And I like drinking. She's been about a month behind Tennessee/Georgia/Texas on all decisions, and is just slow with the upkeep. She unfortuntately was essentially unopposed last election. Wish we had a strong Governor. Our last one was a creep too

All it takes is a crisis to expose true character weaknesses, and too often than not its female side that cant cope, except that south dakota gov, shes doing a great job standing up to the insanity

MSM is pushing Sweden as a failure because they refused to lock down. This site shows daily deaths of 0-10 a day in Sweden in July. The virus is all but gone from their population. How is that a failure?

I’m with this 1000%.

Bless you and your family I thank the Lord above you exist. Seriously, God bless you. I'm losing my mind over this. I live in central AL and my local police departments vary wildly with what their policies are. Some are threatening fines already. God help us.

Tell your fellow boys in blue to do the same. I don't want to go to jail.

Edit: if you're still around DM me.
