"Agriculturalists have long recognized that suitable rotations—such as planting spring crops for livestock in place of grains for human consumption—make it possible to restore or to maintain a productive soil. Ancient Middle Eastern farmers practiced crop rotation in 6000 BC without understanding the chemistry, alternately planting legumes and cereals.[1][2] In the Bible, chapter 25 of the Book of Leviticus instructs the Israelites to observe a "Sabbath of the Land". Every seventh year they would not till, prune or even control insects.[3]"
"At Tuskegee, Carver developed his crop rotation method, which alternated nitrate-producing legumes such as peanuts and peas with cotton, which depletes soil of its nutrients."
So apperently he found a way to replace nitrates in the soil using crops available at the time, so they could continue to grow cotton. Good on him didnt know that. Still dont think that makes him badass as the concept already existed and he simply added the new crop cotton into the old equation of crop rotation.
But he did good for himself being born from actual slaves.
Why? Becuase he made wax crayons out of peanuts?
He discovered how to keep soil healthy with nitrate and not to just plant the same crop in the same field over and over

He did nothing of the sort.
Unless of course Carver was also a kang and lived in a pyramid flying ship
From my understanding, the practice may not have been common in the US at the time
