I bet if we put all the people in nursing homes together during the flu season, we could kill a lot more grandmas then too.

Strange how nobody has had the balls to ask Cuomo "WHY" he put COVID19 infected into nursing homes. I could only come up with a few reasons, first of which was to jack up the death count to hurt Trump. I also think there was an economic decision there too. By lowering the number of retired workers drawing a pensions by 20,000 (just a random number i came up with), the state of New York would save almost 200 million per month.

14
Thep1mp 14 points ago +14 / -0

Why he did it when hospital ships and field hospitals had been provided......

9
Demonspawn 9 points ago +9 / -0

Here's what I've been able to theorize:

  1. To raise death rates and make Trump look bad.
  2. To get rid of conservative voters.
  3. There were 5 states which put C19 positive patients back into nursing homes. 4 of those 5 states were at the top of medicare spending.
8
Keiichi81 8 points ago +8 / -0

So he's claimed, he had to do it because they needed the hospital beds free. Except hospitals were never actually overwhelmed, the Mercy relief ship never saw more than 1/5th capacity, and numerous field hospitals that were opened at great expense closed several weeks later without seeing a single patient. So there was really no "official" reason at all for him do it.

He also claimed that instructions requiring him to do so were sent by Trump's administration, except no one outside of a handful of Democrat governors apparently interpreted these instructions that way since no one else forced infected patients into nursing homes, and they can't point to what specific guidance mandated they do it.

The real reason was to kill predominantly conservative elderly citizens while simultaneously inflating the death toll to make ORANGE MAN look BAD.

3
ImWithHearse 3 points ago +3 / -0

Let’s be realistic, those conservative voters wouldn’t have tipped the scales where NYC or NY would have flipped red. Good thing we have the Electoral College to protect against things like that.

1
Keiichi81 1 point ago +1 / -0

You forget all those states pledging to give their EC votes to the national popular winner.

1
jengapaz 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't think they're allowed to do that. I hope I don't come to regret this statement, but out of my list of top 20 election things to worry about, it doesn't make the list.

6
Whimpy13 6 points ago +7 / -1

Earlier, here in Sweden; they said they wouldn't put people above a certain age or part of a vulnerable group into ICUs.

Swedish rightwing media reported that people in nursing homes weren't given ventilators because it was 'too difficult' for the staff to handle, partly because language barriers. Doctors prescribed morphine to the ill to 'ease their passing'. Regular media sucks the government's dicks.

I think they died for economic reasons.

Sweden have shut down schools but I think there wasn't a big shutdown because we couldn't afford it. I feel like the only things that are allowed to cost money is the environment and immigration. Plastic bags in grocery stores are almost 1$ because taxes. In August we'll continue to receive resettled quota refugees from UNHCR who will be settled in areas with low coronavirus numbers. They claim they will be medically screened. Hold my Second Wave.

Sorry for the rant. 🤡🌍

He/his supporters like to say, "He WaS jUsT fOlLoWiNg CDC gUiDeLiNeS!!" but.. if that's the case, why was NY the only state to do it to that extent, and only a couple of states sent any infected patients into nursing homes?!

2
residue69 2 points ago +2 / -0
2
kag_patriot 2 points ago +2 / -0

We know about NY/NJ (and CA for a short time) for sure - that article seems to conflate states having nursing home deaths (which we expect) with states mandating they take covid patients causing a higher rate of fatalities in nursing homes.

Nonetheless, it wasn't "CDC Guidelines" they were following, it was state-wide orders.

10
Weremoose 10 points ago +10 / -0

we could kill a lot more Trump supporters

I've suspected that this may have been the motivation for the nursing home debacle from day one.

6
chuckachookah 6 points ago +7 / -1

This is the question for Cuomo...

When you ordered COVID positive patients into the nursing homes, killing thousands... how did that make you feel? Are you at all concerned about your own humanity? Are you concerned that you should rot in hell for this?

This is how the media asks President Trump questions.

Instead of saying this prove it.

I’m a Trump supporter but we on this website need to stop making baseless claims.

Compare the death rate that is normally observed in previous years and look into this years.

Things like cancer, heart attack, stroke should kill the same amount of people every year. You should be able to see the CV effect on those states and then compare it to other states (e.g. California and Florida) and draw assertions.

People should make decisions based on a universal data truth because that’s the only way to get normies to vote Trump. By saying ha ha NY & NJ suck and inflated deaths is a lot easier to attack from the left than look at these graphs... 50k of deaths can be attributed to cuomo’s nursing home decision and whatever else. The left loves bringing up the death rate and attributing it all to Trump so let’s fight back with the same numbers.

7
sjw_injection 7 points ago +7 / -0

I think many deaths were caused by bad medical protocol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vn0Bk93R_Tk

Although it is true that death numbers were inflated because they were counting all deaths regardless of cause to COVID if they simple tested positive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tw9Ci2PZKZg

5
HillarysStrapOn 5 points ago +6 / -1

Facts do not matter to the left. Corruption doesn’t care what we think. Good luck with all that. Prepare yourself and your loved ones for things to get worse and worse. Schools are already being closed forcing families to make harder and harder choices. we are in effect a broken country with major parts of the economy and government ceasing to function. If the country doesn’t lurch hard right in November at the ballot box we are screwed. Welcome to communism.

1
Ninjavideo 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah we’ll we don’t go out there and convince the moderates, then we’re screwed

1
HillarysStrapOn 1 point ago +1 / -0

If they aren’t smart enough to see what’s coming at this point, then convincing is moot. You can’t fix stupid or communism, you can only deal with it. PR campaign is a little late to the party at this point.

4
NYC_4_Trump 4 points ago +4 / -0

A universal truth is that Cuomo created a “COVID Union” between NY, NJ, CT, PA, MA- where all would follow the same rules and protocols.

Those states account for more than almost half of all COVID deaths in the country. 67k death versus 138k dead nationwide.

1
Freeandbrown 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm not disagreeing with you ... but I just wanted to point out that 67/138 < 0.5 so...

AndrewLB 2 points ago +2 / -0
2
Ninjavideo 2 points ago +2 / -0

This isn’t exactly what I asked for...

I asked for a delta of deaths that could be due to coronavirus based on previous year rates.

There should be a jump in mortality in every state due to CV.

NY & NJ should have higher rates but if covid truly was a hoax then the mortality rates should be constant across states across years.

This is something you can shove down a LEftys throat.

1
deleted 1 point ago +1 / -0
2
Ninjavideo 2 points ago +2 / -0

So these decisions were PUBLIC decisions meaning we have a date

Death rates can also be understood on a week by week basis meaning there’s a moving 7 day moving average death rate that can be compiled for ALL deaths. This can account for all decisions made by public officials... in the data we should see a MUCH higher death rate for cuomos nursing home decision, and this should be shared and cuomo should be made to answer for this policy. He’s blaming Trump because he thinks it’s convenient for his political career but it’s not in Trump’s day to day responsibilities to overrule governors otherwise with 50 states, President Trump’s time would be cut short fast

Now deaths due to non covid based on previous years can be removed, the reason you don’t want to to use this years death rate is, as assumed by many of our members here, ANY death was labelled COVID, so we have to normalize our data based on last years deaths

Especially now with states like Texas and Florida that have competent leadership, death rates should be lower... we should not see any increase in the death rate, especially amongst those less than 60 years of age

Now compare areas with masks with areas with no masks. Now unlike what seems like the majority of this forum, I think masks will have an effect but we can prove this by looking at the data. Now if people are wearing masks, does that mean they’re more stringent with social distancing? Confounding variables such as these would not be incorporated into the analysis BUT as mentioned by people on this forum, COVID is just the flu so let’s see the data

Fearmongers: "But if we include New York and New Jersey WE'RE ALL DEAD REEEEEEEEEEE!!!"

I keep feeling the need to vent about people who do not see the forest from the trees. They see an outbreak here or ONE person who recovered but sustained permanent physical ailments there; and because the chance of it happening to somebody else is greater than zero or 0.01% or even 0.1%, we need to completely change our lifestyles. They purposefully pick the numbers that make the death rate and injury rate and infection rate as high as possible, and then talk us down or call us anti-science when we present other data to them. "Oh that was back in May, that's obsolete now!" "We didn't know how masks interact with viruses until a few months ago...it was one of the damnedest scientific mysteries of our time before that!"

Yep. Twatter idiots salivating over that "fact" today. NPC programming has been updated so they have a comeback to why we should care about rising cases when the death toll is falling.

Probably should focus on therapeutic treatments like hydroxychloroquine/zinc combo, or budesonide in a nebulizer. Both proven effective treatments, both safe for literally everyone (gotta dose it properly, obv, not do what they did with hcq and murder people with doses 4 times too high), and both generic. We have a cure. That's the answer to anyone who bitches by muh long term effects. Give them the cure and we're done. But this is, and always has been, about orangemanbad, control, and bringing about the new world order.

6

1

Which states are those?

2
TheMutualist 2 points ago +2 / -0

New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and California. California left it up to individual counties.

2

They probably had a higher peak, more deaths in a shorter time frame, etc. I haven’t looked at Sweden’s numbers lately.

Either way that’s probably they’re argument. The thing it’s no different here except we’re prolonging the agony. They just let it burn brightly and burn out.

1
PropagandaWizard1984 1 point ago +1 / -0

I linked an up to date data set of Sweden's Covid numbers in my post. Also check Zero Hedge for a great article they just released on the subject of Sweden. They were one of the only European countries to have economic growth in the first half of 2020. America is prolonging the agony on purpose to hurt Trump more. To hurt the economy more. To instill more fear. Fear is a valuable currency for those who seek power. Sweden had no desire to harm their economy nor instill fear in the populace.

Mark my words, in a year this will be seen as one of America's greatest mistakes. On par with the Iraq war.

2

The long-term impacts of the COVID-19 panic is going to be far worse than we understand right now. And you know the funny thing about it? People dont even see it for the most part cause they are caught up in the weeds of the issue.

The reality is that the biggest impact, other than the economic impact...which is massive, is the complete and utter evisceration of trust in the medical establishment in the country. People played politics with the health of Americans and now every single medical issue, even the valid and worthy ones, will be examined under a political lens.

If you thought the anti-vax/anti-science crowd was a dangerous pain in the ass before then you havent seen nothing yet because Fauci just proved them right. This saddens me deeply because I believe modern medicine was a gift from God to improve the lives of men. Most of what the anti-vax crowd crows about is bullshit pseudo-science. All of the vaccines that we give our children during early childhood are safe, effective, and a net benefit to both individual health and the overall health of the country. They have been used for 40-80 years. Were not guessing when we take them.

But now? Now I "sound like an anti-vax moron" because I dont want to take a rushed as fuck "vaccine" that will probably be little more than snake-oil and with no real testing for major side effects. I will be dead before I willingly allow someone to give it to my children. Not until it is tested and proven.

The left is destroying medicine and science.

3

You should look into the anti-vax stuff and take it a bit more seriously. Probably the best guy to follow, at the moment anyway, is Del Bigtree with the High Wire.

He's not strictly anti-vax, but he is against medical corruption (of which there is much) and pro medical freedom.

In his words he is "politically marooned" because Democrats and Republicans are both pretty bad on this issue. There's a handful on either end that he agrees with or at least cites and has worked with.

He's been pretty on point about our stupid COVID response.

We just found the one guy left from T_D that hasn't flipped and seen the light on this issue.

Protip, if someone uses the term "anti-vax," they don't even realize they are letting the Fake News tell them how to think (with predictable consequences).

My experience with the anti-vax crowd has been admittedly pretty negative. People who refuse basic vaccines like the MMR that is usually given in early childhood are, in my opinion, just not very smart.

Weve been using that vaccine with few changes since 1971. If there were significant issues with it we would have seen it in the last 50 years.

My wife is an ER nurse and shes dealt with so many people who refuse to vaccinate their kids that its appalling. One time she had a family of 3 teenage kids all come in with sever mumps. One lost significant hearing and both boys had severely inflamed testicles and are at risk for decreased fertility.

Its just freaking dumb. We know it works and is safe for the vast majority of people. Maybe there are some side effects to vaccines...but the reality is for the vast majority of people they pale in comparison to the risks of the diseases they prevent.

Try this on for size: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1041693/united-states-all-time-child-mortality-rate/

The infant mortality rate used to be in the 30-40% range for most of human history. Once we discovered and widely used antibiotics in the early 1900s it dropped to under 10%. Once vaccines were widely used in the 60's and 70's it dropped into the single digits. Now its under 1%.

Vaccines have saved more babies than abortions ever killed. Anti-vaxers only survive because of the herd immunity they enjoy from all of the people using vaccines around them. In my state (CO) that is starting to break down. I will never advocate that we need mandatory vaccination (that is evil), but I will advocate for voluntary vaccination and will tell people who refuse that they are foolish and risking the lives of their children for an indefensible belief that has no basis in science.

I guess the lesson is 'don't name your state New Something'

We knew this (Or at least I did) from the beginning.

I figured that out looking at the data for myself. You can go on the CDC website and find it. 2018 I think had more deaths from Flu in a majority of states than Covid + Flu this year.

With the exception of places where Democrat governors forced infected patients into nursing homes, the mortality rate has been nothing remarkable.

Fuck the numbers reported by commie blue States. All inflated or brought on by sending covid sick people into nursing homes. That is like releasing pedos on work release at day care centers. Or releasing arsonist on work release at gas station or fireworks factory. Fucking moron Demoncrats.

Clarification question:

Does the comparison mean that COVID itself is doubling the flu death numbers?

i.e.

COVID deaths = Regular flu deaths so the total is doubled?

OR

Is the totality of COVID + Flu deaths not much different?

Those are two very different scenarios.

It means the total number of people that died - for any reason - wasn't significantly higher than the total number of people that died for any reason during previous flu seasons.

Which reminds me of something I was trying to tell people when this started: If 50,000 vulnerable people die from Covid-19, that's 50,000 fewer vulnerable people that will die from flu or pneumonia that otherwise, statistically, would have. It all evens out in the end, and for all this trouble roughly the same amount of people die.

Thank you, that's what I figured by "overall mortality" but wasn't sure since this kind of shit is so buried that it's impossible to get a trustable number. Can't even follow the damn CDC anymore!

Edit: "We avoid looking at the COVID-19 counts, and rather focus on total mortality (by all causes) since this perspective avoids the diagnostic uncertainty of determining the exact cause of death, and does not rely on sampling problems associated with COVID-19 testing or potentially inflated death estimates from the virus."

That's brilliant. Holy shit. It makes me so damn happy when I can find good data with a solid methodology!!

I'm in NJ and I think the numbers are driven up on purpose. Even before we were hearing of cases coming into the country, NJ was taking in people off the cruise ships that had corona. We got some people in from Italy for some giant wedding that spread a lot of cases. And the hospitals are not trained. As soon as you get in, they slap you on a ventilator and kill you. No one's on hydroxychloroquine, patients or doctors/nurses.

Anyone got those images from TGP that arent blurry? That state list is blurry as hell or I'm developing cadillacs in my eyes! (I know what I said)

Wonder if those numbers are adjusted to take age demographics into account, flu mortality goes up with age so if there is more than the average number of 60+ people in a city or state that would result in a higher than average mortality rate...

And NY would be same as flu season too if Cuomo didn't intentionally infect the nursing homes.

Wish it mattered but they are going all in on this. It's either muh second wave boogaloo or pandemic#2 here we come. They've already decided. Not even sure what to do to convince the lemmings. They will find a way to go along with the dem narrative. Shutting down the whole world for nearly an entire year over a relatively weak noval flu is just stupidity of biblical proportions. I still try to wrap my head around the whole thing.

That's cause the people in NYC are not that healthy to begin with. Living in tight quarters most of your life without much trees or plant life. Breathing in sewage air and smoke on a daily basis. No wonder these people died at a higher rate than the rest of the country.

New york killed people on purpose. Jersey is a victim because of the proximity to New York.
